Premier League

I’m really not sure what Fulham’s problem is. At times they look like they could be a decent midtable team, but then they had games like this, and look like they just don’t get it. Will Sanchez last the season?

RWISE!

Ok, Grand Slam Sunday ™ is over. I don’t get Setanta here, so I didn’t see the ManU-Liverpool game, but the Chelsea-Arsenal game almost looked like a rugby match was going to break out. Very physical, probably should have seen at least Mikel and Fabregas sent off (the tackle at the end), and Wright-Phillips flubbing an equalizer.

I think it’s a 2 horse race at this point, and I don’t think that Arsenal (unless they get kicked out of the Champions League in the first knockout round) are going to be able to keep up with ManU.

And Fulham’s going down (fucking Joey Barton penalty?!?). I’m going to need a new team.

Arsene Wenger is retiring. End of an era.

Certainly an overused adjective, but Wenger is a classy guy and even though he gets chastised for winning too few titles, he delivered incredibly consistent results.

It’ll be interesting to see who takes over and how the very vocal Wenger-out brigade deals with the new manager. They might want him back rather sooner than later.

Would do a big lol if Arsenal finished 10th next year.

Manager for 22 years. That’s almost a quarter-century. I’d say it’s an era.

Yeah, 22 years in the EPL, you get to use the word “era” for that, especially for a coaching tenure that’s roughly corresponded to the length of time the Premiership has even existed.

And perhaps Gunners fans are right, that Wenger is the a major part of the ills that have befallen the club over the last few years in league play. But…these things always carry a “be careful what you wish for” possibility of unexpected consequences.

Not sure if you were replying to me, but i was referring to my own use of “classy” as being clichéd.

So who’s gonna step into those sizable footsteps? I think Thomas Tuchel would have been a great fit, but it looks like Wenger and the board waited too long with their decision.
Arteta and Vieira are probably not ready yet, but i could see some continental coaches like Jardim or Enrique fitting the bill.

Arsenal with another goal that should probably be on pornhub.

That was a beauty. Thanks for sharing it. I nearly (but not quite) regret not spending the obscene amount of money (I couldn’t afford) the concierge was asking for a season seat this season. Arsenal have been a joy to watch play so far.

I don’t see the big deal about it, it’s just a tap in???

That’s the point. It’s the way the goal was built end to end without giving a chance for Leicester to react. The way each pass was precise, the feint, the final tap.

You don’t need a scorpion kick to make a great goal.

I should have used the sarcasm font :(

He he. Sorry. I should probably have caught that.

Awful day for the League.

Earlier today Glenn Hoddle had to be rushed to the hospital. He’s listed as “seriously ill”, but so far things at least seem positive.

At the Wolves-Brighton match, a BHA fan in the stands passed away.

And now word is that the helicopter belonging to Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha crashed outside their stadium, shortly before taking off this evening. The crashed looked horrific. No word on who was aboard the helicopter when it went down, but early reports said the popular team head and possibly some of his family were in the copter when it crashed.

Latest news is that he and a daughter of his were among the five people aboard the helicopter.

Weirdly, they’ve confirmed the occupants of the helicopter, and no one was taken to a hospital for treatment from the crash…but there’s been no official word to confirm the fatalities.

While formal identification of the other four passengers has not yet taken place, Leicestershire police have named them as Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare, two members of Vichai’s staff, and pilot Eric Swaffer and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz.

So very Spursy today in taking a draw AT HOME against Burnley who have been horrid this season.

You can’t take a home draw against a team fighting to avoid relegation. Grrrrrrr.

NM–CHRIS ERIKSEN, YOU ARE GENIUS!!!
