President Trump Optimism thread

A boy can dream.

Hard at work in important weekend “meetings”.

The thing is these folks will be our strongest evangelists. We need to forgive them and welcome them back into civil society. While they were wrong, they were not actively malicious.

In some ways shouldn’t you feel bad for the thousands of “blue collar” workers (or unemployed) who felt abandoned by the rest of the country for years, until their champion emerged, who believed that there was an organized campaign from the “corrupted media” to spread lies and fear about their man. They had pitted their hopes in Trump, who said he would clean up Washington and bring jobs back, and get them even better and cheaper healthcare, and now see their hopes dashed while the “liberals” from the coastal regions/big cities make fun at/or scorn them.

The 25 people in that magamarch probably only need a good talk and a hug.

Or: Could just “disappear” them to save time/money.

You are both ignoring the racist and sexist hate field day they had after the election. The people who thought they could take their filters off and suddenly found out that yes, yes there are still consequences, they only want hugs from their fellow white men, but too comforting or you might trigger their anti LGBTA radar…

No, some of these people should never be welcomed back.

I feel really bad for people carrying neo-Nazi flags.

Do you, though?

So much economic anxiety…

LOL the “mean coastal elite liberal” meme yet again.
These idiots voted for a billionaire from New York City with a long and well documented history of fraud. It doesn’t take a “mean liberal” or “coastal elite” to use a tiny ounce of critical thinking to figure that out. And that “abandoned blue collar workers” shit can just die in a fucking fire. (See WI, KS, IA et al ad nauseum to see what happens to blue collar workers when R’s take control of a state.)

Yeah, I grew up in a blue collar household in the reddest of red counties in Missouri.

No fucking sympathy whatsoever. Being ignorant is a choice in the 21st century.

The WWC Trump supporters- to me if anyone deserves to be called a “cuck” , it’s them.

Arab News regrettably announces that it will discontinue publishing articles by US columnist Andrew Bowen.

The reason behind this decision is the columnist insisting that this newspaper deletes previous articles dating back prior to the recent US election where he was in favor of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Bowen, a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, has repeatedly requested the removal of these articles stating that this is needed for him “to be cleared” for what he claims to be a possible job with the new Donald Trump administration’s State Department.

Mr. Bowen also insinuated — verbally and in writing — that he will seek the support of influential friends and contacts to help remove the articles.

Arab News possesses all correspondence relating to this matter and its position is that such a request is unprofessional journalistically, particularly given that there were no factual errors or libelous comments that require a redaction or correction.

We wish Mr. Bowen the best of luck in his job application.

Haha, I love it. He Streisand Effected himself, which as a total nobody is no mean feat.

Ladies and gentleman, our president.

That accusation by Ivana was well-known prior to Trump’s campaign and surfaced again during the campaign, although not as a direct attack by Hillary or any Democratic Party connected sources. And yet people still voted for him because Her Emails and SCOTUS and Jobs and Drain The Swamp and whatever other weak fucking excuses people could come up with for justifying a vote for the singularly most vile person ever to be a major party candidate for President of the United States.

My only optimism about the Trump presidency at this point is that America is watching and learning it’s lesson, that the people who voted Trump into office based on the outsider myth and a ridiculous hope that he would somehow be able to deliver on his promises where so many people who came before him could not despite their being more qualified, more experienced and just generally much better human beings all around, will reap what they have sown. If Trump’s colossal failure directly impacts Trump voters for the worse, and the Democrats and moderate Republicans can take advantage of that and bring those voters back onboard, then there’s a chance this shit show will lessen considerably in 2018 and end altogether in 2020.

Some of the people who voted for him are already seeing him cancel programs important to them, yet they still support him. I’ve seen the interviews.

But then, this has been going on for a long time. There are a lot of people who vote against their own best interest because of guns, abortion, gay marriage, etc. You can’t fix stupid.

Some will never budge, that’s true, but the thing about Trump was that he culled support from some people that wouldn’t normally have supported him (because of either who he is or what he was espousing), yet voted for him anyway because they either hated Hillary that much, felt strongly about the SCOTUS, were pissed about Bernie, or some other reason that won’t be a factor in 2018 and 2020. If those people can be swayed, not even necessarily to vote Dem, but just to vote more moderate Republican, then the political landscape can be changed.
