I doubt anyone is going to judge you for that. We all have our nooks and crannies. I am glad the other option is available.
Well, that would resolve the issue.
Since there’s no shortage discussion here I guess that’s a local problem? Time to check into my options I guess.

I know it won’t completely eradicate- that is what I’m assuming the professionals are cautioning against. I believe it will make it rare enough that restrictions can be ended.
If we get down to say 1,000 cases a day nationally in the US, I’d consider it contained.
Wait, wait! You are giving him the shot in his nook? Or in his cranny?
How do your calculations change if the vaccine doesn’t provide sterilizing immunity?

Wow, that sucks! Is this specific to flu shots or do you mean any shot?
I haven’t had one in about 25 years (when I was required to have one for school), but I got it this year. Not because I worry about the flu so much, but because needing to go to an urgent care or ER to get an IV is something I’d prefer to avoid right now. I think (and people here will disagree with me, which is fine) that the flu shot is primarily useful for at-risk or vulnerable populations. Imo, we are all vulnerable right now.
Saw a whole bunch of new posts in the Trump Tests Positive for Covid thread and thought there was big news afoot.
The general Covid threads are spreading faster than Covid!

Every shot :( It’s one of my big aversions to going to the doctor. But yes, sorry for the derail in the Trump COVID thread.

I’ve never heard of that before, that is wild. I get monthly shots for allergy immunotherapy treatments, I can’t imagine passing out each time. That must suck.
When I was younger things would go white and fuzzy when I got a shot, so they always pushed orange juice on me afterwards. But that stopped at some point, and now I give myself insulin twice a day with no qualms whatsoever.
I went through weekly freaking allergy shots for like six damn months and all I got for my trouble was a massive ambulance + ER bill for when I went into goddamn anaphylaxis upon getting a dose one time.
0/10 do not recommend. Getting injected with artificial adrenaline sucks.
Yes, that sounds reasonable to me - thanks for clarifying your view.
I know reading this won’t help any anxiety, but I’m in aaaalmost some the same position (I’ve made a few limited trips to two ethnic groceries that aren’t available via Instacart over the last 7.5 months, and had to drop items off at the post office off a couple more times besides for work, but otherwise, the closest I’ve had to human interaction is having a pal like @clay drop off a thoughtful gift from across my building’s stoop), and I had to go out to the doctor’s office last month to pursue some treatment for depression and knock out a flu shot and annual checkup while I was at it, and I wound up coming down with a decent little head cold after the fact. Masked up, hand-sanitized/washed constantly while in there, but still wound up with a bug. I was furious.
I never had any issues with needles/shots, until a particularly unpleasant experience selling plasma. I’d been doing it for a few months to help make ends meet during a rough patch for my partner and I while she was sick and unemployed, no issues. Except one day, the blood they were pumping out to swish for plasma wasn’t going back in, apparently, and I wound up passing out. I woke up covered in ice packs and surrounded by a small handful of bored-looking techs tut-tutting and asking me if I’d like to continue my pump. I assured them that I very much did not, gathered my shit, and left, post-haste.
Been crazy leery of needles ever since and get super light-headed anytime I have to deal with them. It sucks ass :(

That “bug” you got after the flu shot may have been an adverse response to the vaccine.
I just donated plasma last week and the machine I was hooked up to was in rough shape. Thankfully, no issues though. Sorry to hear of your incident. I know they need donors more than ever.
It lasted a good couple of weeks, so I think it was something more substantial, unfortunately. I’m trying to muster the mental capacity to go take an antibody test at some point in case it was just a mild COVID case.
Yeah, an adverse response should last that long. Damn those doctor’s offices.
My wife dragged us in for an antibody test pretty early in the pandemic, because we’d both had some “colds” after coming home from Panama right when the pandemic was ramping up. The airport had health crews in full containment gear screening everyone flying into the country. Between the initial anxiety and being on immunosuppressants, she was really nervous about COVID, and was really hoping the antibody test would come back positive. They didn’t, but thankfully she has become less anxious than she was earlier.
I don’t love getting shots but to me they’re a goddamn vacation compared to a blood draw.

When I was poor, I did the plasma thing out of desperation. I mean if bills are due… what other choice do you have? It’s like having a knitting needle shoved in your arm.
Apparently my survival skills over come my phobias, but only barely.

Yeah, I get it. Seems that the veins in my arm are hard to hit. I was told that I would make a bad IV drug user. I smiled. I used to hit in the back of my hands. Which I have to suggest every time. And it works.
