DJT is a prefect physical specimen. Not many COVID victims can claim that.

I am still really curious about his health. How did a 74 year old, obese man go from needing to go to the hospital to completely fine in just a few days? Are the experimental drugs that good? I understand we don’t know the full story, but he was on Fox for an hour today and sounded fine, physically.
If nothing else, regardless of politics, I would like to know what is going on.

Early monoclonal antibodies really should make a huge difference. I’ve said this before, but when people used to ask me what the point of a pandemic lockdown was if you were just going to get the virus anyway, I would specifically point to the type of drug Trump received as a game changed that was on the way.

I mean, if he is sick, he isn’t coughing. Would the drugs prevent that?

A big issue with the earlier death is… overwhelming the systems. Yes we’re still losing people but some of those what is going on deaths, they would pretty much be considered preventable if only we had the beds, the supplies, the caseworkers, the tests. This is still a very serious virus, but not everyone prevents the same.
It only takes a few super spreader events to overwhelm systems in a concentrated area. And even with great care, we’re still losing people all over the world.
I believe they hastened his recovery from the initial phase of the virus. That doesn’t mean he is virus free or that he won’t develop further symptoms.
FWIW, when I tested positive for COVID over the summer, I had very little cough. Fatigue, body aches, high heart rate and temp, but no cough.

Well that’s a bit more damning.
I really hate to wish ill on him, but the way he is turning this into “well I survived it”, it’s really difficult.

Then you are a better man.
I am very much in a ‘To the pain!’ mood myself.

The wonderful state of Wisconsin agrees with you, Ms. @Nesrie. With too many Republicans and mask fatigue, they are in a sh*t show right now. Green Bay area has almost no hospital capacity left and Governor Evers has activated the field hospital constructed in Milwaukee.

Mask fatigue is a real thing- especially for those who can afford to have it.
The past few months have basically been like homefront at war conditions , but without the visible progress that could be seen during an actual war, which I think makes it even more stressful.
This is why I really wanted a vaccine to be ready, not just because it’s a vaccine, but once a vaccine is considered ready, I really think folks would double down some and put up with things because they could see the end in sight.
Of course, a bad vaccine would make things worse- so it does have to be tested.

I vaccine is needed and wanted for sure, but here is the other thing. If we get a really good treatment, like stabilize, send people home, and they can recover at home then the beds, the hard cases maybe won’t be as hard but also, the resource drain may not be there for weeks. Some people are in those beds for weeks, months even and their recovery time is months after that… if they recover at all.
So yeah some might seem to shrug it off but no one wants to be the one that kind of wastes away in a hospital bed for weeks and then goes home for months of therapy never to recover fully… ever.
I know everyone here knows this, but the disease can be lethal. It’s wiped out family units of a variety of ages and health levels.
The need to be cautious, to keep things closed is still closely tied to the fact that if you get enough of these super spreader events… it’s still very, very bad.
There are a few areas like this. Because the GOP can’t stop choking on media mics, it’s just not getting the news it deserves. Irrational fear helps no one, but caution… several of our health systems run at 80 / 90 percent capacities normally… they don’t have the resources to handle 100 people in badly need of a bed at once and that can happen, we saw it happen, and it’s still happening.
We just need more time. For our Idiot Chief to stop telling people to throw themselves into super spreader events.
Mask fatigue? Jesus, you’re not carrying 40 ton bricks for the pharaoh. It’s a cloth mask.

I live in Illinois and have visited Michigan and Nevada over the past few months all three of these states are good on mask wearing.
That phrase (“mask fatigue”) comes from the media but I have 2 friends in Wisconsin that say that mask rules aren’t being followed.
Cushings is what bugs me with his puffy face, and to be honest, behavior.
That letter was pretty much 100% bullshit.
Sure, Dr Conley, he’s a 74-year-old obese sedentary male with COVID who has the vital signs of a 20-year-old. Pull the other one, Doc.
