I like to dive. In scuba, “OK” is probably the hand signal most used. “Thumbs Up” means “go up” so I’ve trained myself to use OK rather than Thumbs Up in social situations as well.

I will continue to do so. Just 'cuz some red-necks have appropriated an internationally recognized hand signal, doesn’t mean we have to just roll over in fear of offending someone.

Pants are bullshit, though.

Apparently high school used my entire supply of fucks to give about being the weird one.

I envy you! I like to think I’m pretty good at not getting caught up in what people think of me in general, but I still find myself vulnerable to it at times.

Wait what…the ok sign is not okay? When did that happen. Maybe Canadians didn’t get that memo?

Just don’t get caught on video or someone might try to ruin your life about it.

The 2020 version of kkk people use it as a secret signal that they want to kill minorities.

White supremacists have adopted it as a “secret” signal because when done with the right hand, it can be read as WP = White Power (the fingers making the W, and the O forming the top of the P).

The majority of uses are ignorant of this and innocent, but it becomes a dog whistle gesture when done by public figures, since it’s not a gesture that is typically used in public appearances otherwise.

I just found out about it earlier this year. Our original U.S. flag with the 13 stars is now also a white supremacist thing. It hearkens back to a time when whites owned slaves.

I wonder how much Trump’s team is pushing for an in-person debate to counter the argument that Trump is the one who backed out of the debate, knowing Biden and the commission aren’t going to allow an in person debate? Listening to him on that Hannity interview, I think the last thing they want is Trump being forced to stand for 90 minutes and try to talk for that long, since most likely he will quickly be out of wind, coughing, ect, no matter what drugs they give him to get him through it. I.e. the demand for an in person debate in a few days is a bluff on their part.

It may be a bluff but frankly they are not good people and they’d be happy to infect Biden with the virus if possible.

We have this special report on the Trump campaign’s strategy with regard to the debate:

They were smeyeling! Another way that masks are becoming the norm in my mind is that reading facial expressions based on the top third of the face and tone of voice is automatic for me. For folks like my daughter who has NLD, I’m guessing this makes an already difficult task impossible:(

Handshakes should be gone. The necktie should be next.

Me neither. The worst part has been finding ones I like. If we’d been doing this for years, that wouldn’t have been a thing.

I want a mask that attaches to my nostrils and forces exhalation down out the bottom of the mask instead back into my eyes. Does this bother anyone else or am I am freak?

But seriously, get one with a bridge you can mold over your nose

FOX News will have him “examined” by a “physician” live.

The disposable surgical masks with metal nose bridge things are much better in this regard.

You could also sew one that has this.

But that nose bridge piece is really key, especially if you wear glasses.

It’s fraught. I think that for 99% of people it’s still the same damned thing, but for the 1% who live on the internet (and I include myself in that group), both good and evil, it’s become A Thing.
