My own daughter and I can confirm this for sure. There’s a tiny flip side, though, in that it sometimes evens out the playing field. Sort of.

First grocery trip after shit hit the fan in March in New England, I was doing an early morning trip. I ran across someone else in a narrow aisle and we danced about trying to maximize our distance. At this point people where I live were so scared shitless that true believers didn’t think 20 feet was enough room.
I waved her by and beamed a smile at her as we both muddled through, and said “sorry, I’m staring at you, I’m trying to smile!” She smiled back at me and said “I know, I can see it in your eyes.”
Thus a romance wasn’t born, because I’m married and my wife would kill me.
For a long time during childhood, I didn’t smile with my eyes, leading to lots of pictures with me looking like I’m 100% done with whatever is going on at the moment:

And good fucking riddance. If I want to do a male toughness expression/contest, I hold out a fist for a box. But usually I have replaced it with a small kung fu bow that feels really me.
Here in .nl we have (had) this utterly awful custom of greeting people who are deemed familiar with three pecks on the cheeks, right, left, right. Terrible. And now a thing of the past. Never again will anyone be subjected to unwanted intimacy with aunts who smell of death and rosewater.
That’s the one thing I dig about this corona crisis. It allows us to reinvent parts of our culture.

I have a brilliant idea for a face mask that is the bottom half of an eyeglass frame, with a wire that wraps under your chin and holds the mask in place, but no investors yet.

Mark, I know people in political forums exaggerate and demonize the opposition, but at this point I absolutely believe Trump and his circle would love to find a way to infect Biden in the hopes he doesn’t survive and thus keep their power.
Or even just to be able to say that it was dumb luck Trump got it not anything to do with his lack of caution.
