I’m not sure if this is real, but upcoming Trump and Carson debate footage has been leaked.I’m skeptical because of the relative sanity of the clip.
Aren’t the debates televised live?

I think this must be an exception - it looks pretty legit.
“It’s interesting PP changed their policy on taking money for fetal tissue.” Well, yes, they got sick of being falsely accused, as Fiorina was doing yet again, probably hoping to repeat her debate surge that was based entirely on proven lies.
Yes, women hate maternity leave. Real American women don’t want what so many other new moms in other 1st world nations want. . .spending time with their babies. . .they want to rush back to work so that the vast majority of gains can continue going to the top %s in the country.
I literally couldn’t keep up with the bullshit and lies spewing out of Fiorina’s maw. And apparently neither could those “shrill fools.”
Damn straight!
Like today, when that incredibly rude, shrill fool Chuck Todd practically begged her to expound on her tax plan. And she basically said suck it!
Now THAT’S who we want to lead the US???

Nah, I want the guy who thinks Mt Rushmore was created by Joseph to store verifiable virgins.
I’ve changed my mind about carson after watching this.
In the past I thought he was an accomplished neurosurgeon who was a complete idiot at everything else, potentially at least partially due to extremist religious beliefs.
In this video he comes off as more intelligent and informed on the issues than ever before. He is also a lot more charismatic and sure of himself.
Gah, this Carson thing has more twists than a telenovella. That Yale story? Check out this from the Yale Daily News, Jan. 14 1970.
The [parody newspaper] also announced … that a series of Psychology 101 exams were destroyed and stated that a makeup would be held at 7:30 last evening. A false exam held in 203 WLH was attended by several students not aware that the replacement exam was a hoax.
… but somehow in the retelling being punked by the college humor magazine tranformed into being rewarded for being the Last Honest Man.
Being patient doesn’t preclude being steamrollered! And yeah, loud and shrill certainly isn’t off base. But I’m glad they called her out on the whole “Planned Parenthood harvests baby parts” thing. That dog shouldn’t be allowed to hunt.

It’s still incredible to me that anyone thinks Donald Trump might be worth voting for. But as I was reading this article by Robert Reich, he mentions something he heard from red-state conservatives that is at least logical:
I also began to understand why many of them are attracted to Donald Trump. I had assumed they were attracted by Trump’s blunderbuss and his scapegoating of immigrants.
That’s part of it. But mostly, I think, they see Trump as someone who’ll stand up for them – a countervailing power against the perceived conspiracy of big corporations, Wall Street, and big government.
…
I kept hearing “Trump is so rich he can’t be bought.”
Of course, you have to assume that Trump is telling the truth when he says he’s on the side of the common man, which is stretching credulity to its limit. But if you do believe that, and your biggest concern is that big money/big government are in cahoots to screw you, then voting for Trump does make a kind of sense.
I’m torn between hoping enough crazy people think like this that Trump wins the Republican primary, clearing the way for a Democratic landslide; and fear that enough crazy people on both sides think like this that Trump might actually win.

The idea that trump is going to stand up for the middle class, basically against himself is totally ridiculous. Why would anyone think that even remotely makes sense?
Oh, he isn’t in the pocket of any of those fat cat social interests! No, he is himself a fat cat special interest. He’s just skipping the middleman. How anyone thinks this ends up better for anyone other than trump, I have no idea.
I personally believe that Trump values his fame more than his money (which he obviously values too). I don’t think his presidential run is to increase his money, because it is obviously not doing it. I think he is doing it because he just wants the cult of personality.

Because Trump was out there saying he would and that everyone else was bought and sold.
I mean, as far as Trump appeal goes, this is the only thing I get. Yes, it seems illogical, but it isn’t unheard of for rich people to go to bat for the little guys. I mean look at Bill Gates and all he does. Now Trump is no Gates, but he is playing the populist card fairly well. In the first debate it was basically the only good point he made. I can easily see that resonating with people. I mean Perot was popular for basically the same reason.
I think Trump makes sense when he says he isn’t going to be bought by special interests. I believe that. The question is what does Trump believe in and what would he do as President? I really have no idea.
This whole discussion is retarded.
If you get to the point that you are ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES you are well past fucking bribery.
Christ.
The whole point is political bribery. The special interests groups can cause problems with of finance the opponents of the president.
Uh, okay. That still has nothing to do with the personal wealth of the President.
I maintain that this whole discussion is fucking retarded.
I think the point is that you make certain promises to secure the nomination and then the presidency. Trump is claiming that his situation means he won’t have to sell his soul to secure the massive amount of money needed for such a venture.
It isn’t when you’re president but before and for re-election.
Of course, the flip side of that discussion is that people are saying his soul was already sold to get that money in the first place.
Not only that, but Presidents have an easier time of it if their own party gets more seats in Congress. It’s not about personal finance but about securing financing to run campaigns. Trump’s message is that he doesn’t have to take a dime from anyone. That seems to resonate with more than a few people.
