No way! Hillary is much more honest that Cruz, she just lacks anything that resembles charm. That being said, Hillary is the candidate that I would like to see sitting across the table from Putin, especially after the hearings see has sat through.
Unlike Cruz or any of the other Republicans, she’d do a lot more for families and working moms (and since I have a mom and am married to a mom, these are important factors to me) and I believe she protect many of the executive orders put into place by Obama since Congress will probably never move of them.
I am more on the fence about Bernie, since I am not a fan of his gun policy.
I really don’t see Hillary as particularly dishonest as a candidate for President and I think her husband makes a great case for her experience, her abilities and in state department, it shows her priorities and work ethic are real.
Cruz is just the biggest dipshit ever to be in the Senate, who seems to be no interest in governing, only in being famous and powerful. The fact that he has so few allies in the house or Senate shows that even if elected, he couldnt get anything done.

Honesty is such a rare quality in politicians. I am beginning to think that describing a candidate as honest or dishonest really goes to which lies we are willing to overlook, or which we simply can’t identify.
For what it’s worth, I agree with you. She definitely compares well to Cruz. I would identify Bernie as the one most likely to make statements aligned with the facts, though.
So is Ben Carson autistic? He seems to have no social skills beyond wearing a nice suit and smiling. He asked an elementary school audience of kids to point out the worst student in school, and they singled out one child. After the rally Carson met with the 10 year old and told him he was going to be a neurosurgeon too. WTF?

His suits aren’t that nice.
Carson, I believe, was trying to relate his own struggles in education to the kids. "As a fifth-grade student, I was a horrible student. Anybody here in fifth grade? Who’s the worst student?” was supposed to be a rhetorical question that he was going to immediately follow up with “Because I was that fifth-grader, but I worked and studied hard and became a neurosurgeon blah blah blah.” Unfortunately, Carson is a slow speaker and kids don’t understand how rhetorical questions work, so when he uttered “Who’s the worst student?” they immediately singled out this one poor kid.
It was a mix of bad delivery, not knowing your audience, and poor timing. He should’ve just gone straight from “I was a horrible student” to “…but I worked hard” etc. and not have asked the question at all.
A competent person would have rolled with it gracefully and gotten the kid off the hook, not actually gone over to the kid as if it was fucking reasonable for everyone to agree on who was the “worst student”.
Is it too early to talk about how a lot of people are saying that Ben Carson tells kids who are bullied that they have autism and then jokes about them becoming surgeons?
I read that Carson thought the kids would point to a lot of other kids and was surprised when only one child was singled out. Whatever. It was a clumsy move. But hey, at least the kid knows he’s going to be a brain surgeon someday.
I get that vibe from him as well. I think he probably is the most honest person running at this moment. I’m not sure how important that is to be an effective leader though.
If he does get the nomination, I’d be very curious about his running mate. That would make a big deal to me, since I don’t see him all that strong on foreign affairs (or least he hasn’t paid much attention to it on the campaign trail).
That being said, I wonder if anyone mainstream member of the GOP would want to even consider the VP slot for Trump or Cruz. Would the VP just be another extremist?
Since “facts” in a political campaign are pretty much in the eyes of the beholders (e.g. Gun control saves lives). I think the definition of honesty is saying what you believe to be true.
By that standard, I think Bernie is the most honest person running for President, with honorable mentions for Kasich and Christie. Hillary is at the bottom, although as I learn more about Cruz its possible he is in the same league. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Cruz is a brilliant lawyer and by all accounts, Hillary was a very good one. Part of the training of lawyer is being deceptive about problematic data without actually crossing the line into perjury.
If you go back and listen to Hillary’s evolving statements about the email scandal to use just the most recent example, I don’t see how anybody could conclude she was being honest. Now reasonable people can disagree if the emails matter, or if it was all a Republican witch etc.
But it really doesn’t matter what the echo chamber of QT3 believes. The American people have pretty much made up their mind. The polls this season show about 60% find Hillary untrustworthy, 30% find her trustworthy and only about 10% don’t know. Even Trump score higher, but 60% includes a lot of Democrats.
There is less polling data about the rest of the pack, but pretty much all the candidates are in 1/3 trustworthy, 1/3 untrustworthy and 1/3 don’t know. Which pretty much break down in partisan lines.
Now American have elected presidents they didn’t believe were honest, Ticky Dick “I am not a crook” Nixon, and “I didn’t have sex with the woman” Bill Clinton prove that.
There are many negative adjective that I think are perfectly fair to apply to Ted Cruz. Dipshit is not one of them, he is probably actually the smartest person running for President, and a quick read of his Wiki entry should convince you why I say that.

I don’t know about using “honesty” when talking about a politician. Look at any politician’s promises during the election process and compare that to what they actually “attempted” to do in office and even the best politician lies and exagerates. I do think you can say Carson is perhaps the most “genuine” of the candidates, even if you disagree with everything he says. Sanders would probably be up there as well.
Christie, honest? Really?
Also Carson clearly made much of his life story up to attempt to appeal to certain audiences. He didn’t even try to hide this.

Ha yeah. Carson the most genuine. The most genuine lying liar who lies, anyway. But it must be said that the difference between him and the average politician is that the average politician is too afraid to lie about things that can so easily be checked up on. Carson has no such fear. Any fact-checking is clearly part of a secret conspiracy to destroy him…
In Christie and Kasich case, I think they are pretty honest because they generally avoid pandering. Both of them, for instance, have told the truth about the need to make entitlements reforms like raising social security age for all Americans and increasing the payments for Medicare for upper middle class
Bernie is pretty much the opposite. He basically has promised free medical, free college for all Americans and even those in the country illegally. He thinks it wrong to raise the retirement age to 70 cause its too hard to do many jobs at that age. How Bernie pays for all this is raising taxes on millionaires and billionaire. I give Bernie, a pass on this because I think he genuinely believes that if we just redistribute all the wealth in the country we could pay for all these goodies. In contrast, I know Hillary understands the math but continues to try and match Bernie in the pandering department.

Well we genuinely could pay for all those “goodies” right now, but we’d rather spend it on F-35s and the like.
Bernie’s math isn’t off by any means. Now, if you think that’s the right way to do things or not is a matter of opinion.
The thing that got me with Carson is how stupid the lies were. He didn’t even lie about things that were going to hugely affect his political career (for good or bad). It was just stupid stuff and as you say, it was EASY to check that they were made up. It just makes no sense. I expect politicians to bend the truth, if not outright lie, but carson lied stupidly, which makes me question how effect he could be as a politician, much less a president.

Was anything actually ever shown to have been done by Christie regarding that? I seem to recall that not being the case, but cold keep bringing it up like he did? I honestly don’t recall how it ended up panning out.

Nope, he wasn’t so stupid as to write anything down for that one. At least credit him for that. But will no one rid me of this meddlesome Mayor?
God I hate Christie. The man has always been running for president. Have a law on pig farms… No, can’t have that, because it wouldn’t play well in Iowa. The man is dirt.
Also, Strollen, I am sure you can site something about those emails of Hillary because there hasn’t been any news anywhere about. Not even faux news has any coverage on it anymore.
As to the GOP, they like to scare monger on Government programs but so far social security and Medicare are neither bankrupt and that is despite the GOP efforts. We have the lowest effective tax rate in the industrial world, and if we just put a little less into the military industrial complex and put tax levels back to the 50 and 60 era, we would be in much better shape.

I think that Carson is the least calculating. Still a liar.
Bernie reminds me of the liberal version of Ron Paul.
