I’ve been wasting my time learning all those unofficial Donald Trump jams.

Oh my gawd…

TranquilityBase beat you guys to it. What amazed me is the crowd in the background. It looked fake at the start. But by the end, they start moving and clapping and I realized that they were real people all along.

Are those the only three girls they could come up with for this? Amazing. You’d think Trump was rich enough to afford an actual band or production company or something. But this is sort of the opposite of “America’s Got Talent”.

There’s a dude in the audience in the lower left wearing a purple shirt and black jacket who looks like he’s actively reconsidering his Trump support with each passing second of this performance.

Looks like Jimmy Johnson (the football coach) sitting almost in the middle in the front. I don’t think it is him though.

Daily Beast interview with the group’s manager.

So Trump out bid the opposition. Sounds like Trump. Good thing he got them before Jeb grabbed them.

I guess jeb was just too LOW ENERGY.

Manager Jeff Popick said the girls, including his daughter, like Trump because he “makes them feel very safe.”

Wait, I meant
…I.,

This actually happened to a Facebook acquaintance of mine. Her father was a Trump supporter and went to see him speak in Concord NH last week. By the end of the rally he had shifted his support to Sanders.

I agree, for the most part, but when states behave irresponsibly (segregated education, for example), the federal government needs to step in. Also, if states want to accept federal monies, they probably have to accept federal guidelines for how those monies are spent and what they need to do to keep receiving them.

Many states are being irresponsible right now for not accepting federal money to help their own citizens pay for healthcare. That’s pretty awful.

State governments shouldn’t exist. They were a sop to the south in the transition from the articles of confederation because of their lower populations and abhorrent plantation slavery economies. An amendment to that effect should have come right after emancipation.

The Shia Labeouf production was so much better than this and Trump would have fit in that song too.

Interesting article: Trump Supporters Appear to be Misinformed, Not Uninformed.

One way to understand Trump’s longevity is to look more closely at his supporters. Trump’s backers tend to be whiter, slightly older and less educated than the average Republican voter. But perhaps more importantly, his supporters have shown signs of being misinformed. Political science research has shown that the behavior of misinformed citizens is different from those who are uninformed, and this difference may explain Trump’s unusual staying power.

I knew this looked familiar, and then i saw the date too.

I can’t get this stupid thing out of my head. I only watched it twice. And it’s stuck in there. I need some David Bowie to cleanse my mind.

Holy crap. The New York Times actually admitted that Clinton could be in trouble on the front page today:

DES MOINES — Iowa Democrats are displaying far less passion for Hillary Clinton than for Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont three weeks before the presidential caucuses, creating anxiety inside the Clinton campaign as she scrambles to energize supporters and to court wavering voters.

The enthusiasm gap spilled abundantly into view in recent days, from the cheering crowds and emotional outpourings that greeted Mr. Sanders, and in interviews with more than 50 Iowans at campaign stops for both candidates.

Voters have mobbed Mr. Sanders at events since Friday, some jumping over chairs to shake his hand or snap a selfie.

An event Monday in Waterloo underscored Mrs. Clinton’s challenge: About 300 people welcomed her enthusiastically and listened to her diligently, but many of them, still unsure, rebuffed Clinton aides trying to get them to sign “commitment cards” to caucus for her.

“I personally want to find out if she’s trustworthy or not,” said Katie Bailey, 71, of Cedar Falls. “There’s so much untrust. I want to eyeball her.”

Matt Fagerlind, 36, also attended the Clinton event, but found himself thinking about how Mr. Sanders’s rallies had the same uplifting emotional intensity as Barack Obama’s in 2008. “I think Sanders is going to give her a good run,” he said, describing himself as unmoved by Mrs. Clinton and planning to vote for Mr. Sanders.

Many of the Sanders supporters interviewed said they felt personally moved by what they described as his sincerity. Bert Permar, 86, a retired professor, said he had gone to four Sanders events and was now making calls to share the candidate’s message.

“I love to see him. He motivates me,” Mr. Permar said on Sunday, sitting in the front row at a Sanders forum on veterans’ issues in Marshalltown. “I get emotional. It brings tears that someone is talking about the issues that we should be concerned about.”

Please let this be true. Bernie winning the nomination could be transformational. Trickle-down might finally start to die in America.
