Some recent polls have Jeb tied with Rubio in third place at 10%. Jeb is creeping up.
At first, I thought someone created that by snipping individual words and then editing them back together randomly.
Turns out, it was just her.
Yeah. I’ve got no sympathy for McCain. That brand of crazy stupid would have been clear if he spent even half an hour interviewing here before making her is running mate.
Either he shoots from the hip without any diligence or he is incapable of spotting stupid. Either clearly disqualifies him from being president.

Trump is, if anything, a realist. He’s also a sociopath. So he picks up Palin for a while. And when his people, and don’t be fooled he has the best people, decide that Palin isn’t helping him anymore… He moves on to the next thing. Who knows what that will be? But I guarantee it will be something that gets him news time. How long can this last? As long as Trump wants. Meanwhile Bernie and Hillary are on page two.
You got that right. I’m completely baffled when I turn on MSNBC and see “all Trump all the time” lately.
I expect that from Fox News, maybe even a healthy dose of Trump from actual news channels…but MSNBC?

Like I said, it sounded like she was tripping balls during the speech.

They are in the ratings business. They want eyes on their channel, and don’t care about anything else.

Half of having an ideology-based network is showing how the other side is wrong.
I mean Fox does it constantly with Obama and Clinton. It’s the same thing really. Point at the Other Side and point out why they’re the enemy and anyone who doesn’t see it is an idiot or a traitor.
Though to be fair, Trump is a complete fucking tool and has the highest polling numbers right now, so even if you didn’t have a view point you were trying to push, he’d still be news as would the lies and stupidity he’s constantly spouting.
Yeah, the '08 campaign (not just Palin but also McCain’s weird campaign suspension right in the middle of the financial crisis) reminded everyone that the actual definition of “maverick” is not “principled and courageous” but rather “impulsive and unreliable.”

Yeah, that’s one of the most terrible things she’s ever said. An insult to all veterans who saw actual combat and manage to not be a dick. Did her son see actual combat? Somehow I doubt it.

And it’s not like she’s so rich she can’t afford to send him to therapy.
There is a very small part of me I usually keep quiet that enjoys watching those who put themselves on moral pedestals have that pedestal publicly kicked the fuck right out from beneath their arrogant, self-righteous feet. As much as people attack the Clintons – and while I have no idea what keeps that marriage a thing – they at least raised a daughter who’s never been a cause of public embarrassment. Unlike so many who jump up on that pedestal of superiority.

He actually did, I believe. He served a tour in Iraq in 2008, and was regarded as a good soldier. Although apparently his friend Jeremy Morlock in Afghanistan is now serving 25 years for killing unarmed civilians and posing with them as though they were game.
In all fairness, Track Palin went to Iraq, and probably saw some shit, and seemingly does actually have PTSD.
But the idea that it’s somehow Obama’s fault is nonsensical.
Agreed, and for sure, that disastrous VP pick was one of the things that cost him the election, along with acting all exasperated at one of the debates (can’t remember which one). It’s a good thing all told, though, or the stimulus would have been even more inadequate than it was during 2009-2010, and unemployment would have hit 20%.

So, what happens when your news stations hunger for viewers makes Trump the most watched man in USA, and he then gets elected for President? Because that’s how it looks from the outside. Danish politicians have even commented that if that should happen, USA would no longer be someone to listen to anymore.
Arent anyone concerned about this possible outcome?
It looks like that from here too (a different outside…). I’m not 100% appeased by the murmur that Trump doesn’t have a chance in the real election, since the murmur before was saying there was 0% chance he would be the Republican nominee…
Having just finished Williams biography on Huey Long doesn’t help either.
Someone attended a Trump rally so we don’t have to: https://storify.com/tinymediaempire/i-went-to-a-donald-trump-rally-and-saw-a-mean-wear
Listening to Trump talk is like watching a Bingo ball-picker at a retirement community choose colorful buzz phrases and announce them through the PA in whatever order they’re drawn, really really fast, while old people cheer and are not actually sure if they’re winning or not.

Trump may get the GOP nomination, which is an awful statement about that party’s current condition. He would likely get stomped in the general election, however. Fivethirtyeight did a recent breakdown of candidate favorability ratings that sheds some light.
Nobody really knows what will happen, and Trump’s candidacy is far stronger than anyone expected. But, as an American who follows politics closely, I don’t think he has much of a chance in the general election.
