While that is very likely accurate, the optics of the whole thing look way different.

I didn’t know Jeb! wasn’t his actual name.

John Ellis Bush!

I really thought his name was Jeb.

So Jeb Bush is the political equivalent of an ATM machine.

Oh my god, he’s the Bush family’s GOB! That explains everything!

If he quits now he can start planning for 2020. Keep going over the game films, see where he made mistakes. Headhunt the talent from other campaigns. Take elocution lessons. Some public speaking stuff. Maybe get a good psycho-pharmacologist to prescribe some Ritalin? Lots of stuff to do. Focus on the future.

Yeah, I don’t remember anyone very prominent saying that Rand Paul was a favorite in the race. However, in retrospect, given the dissatisfaction with the establishment illustrated by Trump, if Trump himself hadn’t been in the race Paul might have gotten way more attention and run a Sanders-like upset. I’m not saying his and Trump’s positions are the same, but he represents a whole different angle on governing (when he wants to show it).

Man, a Sanders v. Paul general election? Now that’d be worth it!

“Blow-harding”.
Nope, none of that blow-harding for me. Gonna mewl and slouch my way right into the White House!

Even Jimbo can engage in a little blow-harding after his strong showing in Iowa.

And Gilmore is a barely remembered figure in the commonwealth.

Well something would change and we wouldn’t be getting into any more wars, that’s for sure.

On another note, my most Republican friend, who happens to be black, has officially quit the GOP because of Trump. He’s leaning towards Sanders at the moment because of his civil rights history, though he’s concerned about his 2nd Amendment stances. Given that he voted for Joni Ernst out of some nebulous fear of people taking his guns, that doesn’t surprise me really, but I was rather shocked to see him post on Facebook about it.

Or as his hashtag wall said:
#‎openminded‬ ‪#‎whatishisstanceonguns‬ ‪#‎donaldtrumphaschangedme‬ ‪#‎trumpruinedmyparty‬ ‪#‎berniebackedissueswhentheywerenotcool‬ ‪#‎imissronaldreaganeightnow‬ ‪#‎willtherealrepublicanspleasestandup‬ ‪#‎amiaflippindemocratnow‬ ‪#‎ihatetrump‬

So good job, Don, you somehow turned one of the last people I’d ever thought could change parties. I’m willing to bet in a few years he’ll be GOP again because someone will scream about people coming for his guns or something, but it’s still a mind-blowing feat to me.

Whoa there, chief. Trump has explained many times that the coloureds love him. He’s huge with them.

Don’t quote me on it but I’m pretty sure it’s Cruz taking a lot of the Tea Party / street libertarian type support.

PPP poll later today shows Trump with a 9 point drop in national polling. Cruz and Rubio tied for second.
I’ve not seen any post-Iowa NH polling. Anecdotally (from news reporters) a lot of undeclared (not registered D or R) voters are debating between Trump and Sanders. There are a large number of these voters in the state. There’s also a possibility of a snowstorm here for Tuesday.

I’m still undecided. Sanders aligns almost perfectly with my political views. But the thing that gives me the most pause is that Republicans want Sanders to win.

Trump is upset - what kind of America is it if a man can’t win on a platform of war crimes, xenophobia, misogyny, and racial and religious discrimination?

We’ll always have November, 2015 Ben.

Check out the comments in this newsmax article, they are priceless.

There are a whole pack of different people with variations of the name “patriot” arguing with each other about trump. Patriot and Patriot6 are fighting, “The Truth” weighs in… the Lawdawg throws his 2 cents in. It’s awesome.

Pretty sure that comment section’s main utility is as as positive control data set for my spam filter.

It’s interesting to see the attack lines change now in the GOP now that the hyper-social-conservative Iowa is in the rear-view mirror.

Christie is attacking Rubio, which is no surprise, obviously. But he’s basically saying that Rubio’s stance on abortion is too conservative.

“I will tell you one thing Marco Rubio has done,” Christie said Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “He’s made it very clear that on the issue of pro-life, that Marco Rubio is not for an exception for race, rape, incest or life of the mother. Now, you know, I think that’s the kind of position that New Hampshire voters would be really concerned about.”

Wait, what?
What kind of exception would you make based on race?

Like, it’s ok to abort black babies or something?

No, no, no: not race as in ethnicity. He’s talking about sprinters, as they need to be concerned about getting slowed down with pregnancies.

He is going for the Trump supporters
