It randomly disappears from the drive list. (won’t show up in Disk Management after this happens). On a cold boot the drive shows up fine. Restarts won’t make it show after it vanishes.
If I run a game or try to install a game on it…the whole PC will freeze up at some point without warning. Literally the only thing on the drive is steam games so it isn’t that big of a deal.
Not sure I can do something to “fix” it…?
EDIT: I FIXED IT
Same happened to me some time ago. Thought it was the drive until I switched new SATA cables.
I’ll try the cables. I unmounted the drive, running a scan now. (lol)
I did recently delete a huge backup file on the drive (over a TB of data).
Running Error-checking actually fixed the problem. :)
Why aren’t you using Desktop Fences?
Yeah…I had to look up what you were talking about. I don’t think I need them. I barely use desktop icons.
