Pro-Obama Dungeons and Dragons Players Hate McCain

According to John McCain’s website:

It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman’s memory of war from the comfort of mom’s basement, but most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others.
Oh, dude, you do not want to mess with me. My Longsword is +5, and I’ve been sharpening it.

Somebody failed their Spot check!

That was spot-on!

The D&D reference is great, but it’s the mom’s basement quip that really turns this into something special.

I’m not sure who he’ll inadvertently offend here. Reclusive role-players who respect and admire Senator McCain? McCain opponents who don’t know what all this Mazes and Monsters business is about?

Either way, that’s exactly what you want to do in a political campaign: flippantly and vaguely insult and alienate large groups of people. The republican party mostly specialized in doing that to immigrants, but I guess they can expand to nerds too.

Man, doesn’t it feel good to focus on the issues that matter?

I am pretty sure this means I get an Attack of Opportunity on mystery.

For those of us that must advertise our position in society.

McCain’s campaign has, of course, already flip flopped:

I just want to know McCain’s position on whether or not our troops in Afghanistan have enough fire resist. WHY IS OUR MILITARY NOT SPECIALIZING IN ALCHEMY???

Subtlety be damned. Folks, we were already doing this thread. It was “buried” about 6 posts away:

Gallant, Matthew tried to point this out already. Sometimes the GM can be too subtle.

Well, it was hard to tell from the thread title what that other thread was about.
