Putin Backs Bush

Russian President Vladimir Putin, siding with President Bush two weeks before the U.S. election, said Monday that armed attacks in Iraq were staged by “international terrorism” out to block his re-election.

Despite making clear he wanted to see Bush returned to the White House, the pragmatic Putin carefully balanced his comments by adding: “We will, of course, respect any choice by the American people.”

So that gives him the president of the country we used to call the evil empire, a spy for iran, and his local coupon clipper. Too bad that nasty liberal media hates him, i heard the liberal papers each get a million billion dollars each for backing kerry.

The thing I find most ironic about this story is that the Iranian nuclear reactor that Bush et al are so worked up about was built by … Russia.

The closet communist backing the closet faith - based facist. Who woulda thunkit…

Gee, that’s sure a load of my mind.

Why do I get the feeling that Republicans will welcome this endorsement with open arms, despite condemning any leader that decides to openly back Kerry?

Remember, Stalin and Hitler were allies briefly.

Damn, I mentioned Hitler.

Well, it wasn’t so much that they were allies, just “not enemies”. And of course that was back in the day before Bush’s “with us or against us” nonsense.

True that. Remember how they lambasted him when he suggested that certain foreign leaders he’d met with preferred his ideas to those of the current administration? With all the Bush admin’s talk of not letting others determine how we protect ourselves, it will be interesting to see how they play with this Putin crap.

Come to think of it, my favorite conservative asked me months ago, with a straight face, to honestly consider who Osama bin Laden would most want to win the election. She assumed/assumes bin Laden has a boner for Kerry, I guess, but I found the question so patently offensive that I dismissed it out of hand, missing the fact that the true answer is probably the opposite, considering what Bush has done for recruitment. Beyond that it now occurs to me that the very question, coming from a Republican, flies in the face of all Bush says in lampooning the “global test” comment. Hmmm.

In other news, I saw Dick Morris (what a whore he’s become…or maybe always was) pratling on about the election on FNC one day. His contention is we are all feeling fat and happy now because no terrorism is happening here, and if that feeling continues then Kerry will be elected. If, however, there are major rumblings about terrorist plans and future activities here on American soil, then Bush wins. “I’m not suggesting that Bush would plant such things, though.” He went on to say, “Osama bin Laden will determine who becomes the next president.”

God what a tool. First of all, I think he has it exactly opposite. If all stays clear, Bush probably stands a better chance. If something scary goes down, I should think he gets the boot. Second of all, he should be tarred and feathered for even making a comment like that. Dick.

Or maybe this is closer to the truth:

The irony is that the administration is constantly accusing people of “giving aid and comfort to the enemy”, and yet, at the same time, their entire structure, from colored alerts, to political persecution, is about reacting to the agenda of the percieved threat.

When your enemy dances to your tune, that’s pretty much the definition of “aid and comfort.”
