Ah, Neal Stephenson, the guy who wrote Elfstones of Shannarah, right? I didn't realize he had a new book out.
They should rename Horde mode (and its similar ilks) as chore mode.
Though I definitely hope Gears is better than Tom says, but this was a great podcast.
Is there any way to sign up again for the podcast? Probably the most fun I've had in the Qt3 community.
Real shame to hear that Tom is no longer involved in the forums. But if that means we get more front page articles from Tom and crew than that's a good trade off to me. I've been reading Tom's writing since before by bar mitzvah and I've only come to appreciate it more. The front page of QT3 now boasts some of the best writing on games around.
Peter, excellent advice. However, can you play hardcore without first playing non-hardcore? I seem to recall hardcore Diablo II was only for people who'd finished the game, but I could be misremembering.
