So, Chaos Reborn! If you haven’t heard of the game, it’s the latest turn-based tactical game by the guy who made the original X-Com, and you can play asynchronous games with up to 4 players! It’s in Steam Early Access only at the moment I’m afraid, although it will come to GOG and other places when it’s released mid 2015. The multiplayer game, despite being under development, is still very solid and enjoyable. This makes it a suitable leaguelets game if we can generate enough interest.

If you need to learn more about the game, the Steam page is here, there’s a written summary of the rules here, and a good introductory video here. I’m happy to play anyone in a friendly live / async setting to help explain how it all works.

Right now the matchmaking / notification system isn’t particularly robust, I’m hoping this gets improved soon. So to organise games sharaleo set up a Steam QT3 group where you can post a game number, password for that game, and wait for players to join.

There are already tournaments taking place (there’s a link in the game to the tourney website, which is here) and the game is ideally suited to it over a course of matches. As with any Julian Gollop game, RNG plays a big role, so the key to getting good is to understand and mitigate risk. Like most games really.
