The Quartertothree Pew Pew Protocol (QP3)

When a leaguelet ends, the playoffs will follow this protocol:

Number of participants. The number of playoff spots will be a power of 2 and no more than half of the number of participants. For example, if 12 people played in a leaguelet, then 4 playoff spots at most will be open.

Eligibility. No one with zero wins or less than three games played may make the playoffs.

Choice protocol. Two rankings, one by win percentage and one by number of games played, will be compared row by row. As soon as a player has appeared in both rankings, the player will be added to the overall ranking list. This process continues until the number of playoff spots are filled. Ties for the final spots will be broken by win percentage.

It is the final night of February, and time for the QP3!

By the power of the QP3, I declare:

There are 10 Lost Cities players, so four players make the playoffs!
Matching up by win percentage and by total games played, and moving down the list, the first matches are:

dave (defending champ!)
beatrix (new kid!)
annie (gaudy 6-1 record!)

…and then clyve and prolix are tied! But ties are broken by win percentage, so clyve takes the fourth spot.

Lost Cities playoffs:

beatrix (2) vs annie (3)
