For the past two years, near the Mayan month of Wayeb (a shorter month which the Mayans considered to be outside of time), the adventurers of Qt3 have delved into a series of tombs, hoping to reach the tenth and final tomb and defeat the Dangers there.

Folks who are interested in a Frozen Cortex leaguelet: are you okay if the first month, we just play randomly like we’re doing for all other leaguelets, and see how it goes, and then maybe in April we’ll put together something officially league-y?

I don’t mind, I’m easy.

Beatrix: yeah, I’m feeling the same with regards to Chaos Reborn, though I haven’t played nearly as many games as I perhaps ought to. The RNG can really punish you sometimes and I know that’s the same for everyone but… I dunno, I’m a deterministic kind of guy, especially after the likes of Frozen Synapse where the only ‘random’ element is the other player. It’s good knowing that the only thing that ruined your day was yours or your opponent’s actions and not a dice roll.

In my last game I was cornered by krok so I sunk as much mana as I could into casting Subversion against his Sapphire Dragon. It had a 91% chance to cast successfully. It failed, which was just a little bit annoying! Whether it would have subverted his creature is another matter…!

May be I have not used the correct words, I’m not pissed off of CR and surely there are good and not so good players but, as you example shows, the random factor is too hight (and the 22% is pure math ;) ).

In this thread there are a lot of other good games with a ‘less random factor’, Nightfall for example … 0 games won but I really like it.

I lost interest in Lost Cities quickly but this seems like a good opportunity to give it another shot. I’m in.

Not a great night for me Chaos Reborn wise. I knew I should’ve gone after the elf with my rats. That blob forced me to be more aggressive than I would’ve liked. Good game indeed.
