JG just posted over in the CR forums about Classic Chaos mode, which sounds like it might be coming back in the next patch (fingers crossed):
I think this mode should be as close as possible to the original Chaos, but still using the mana/boost/megaspell system.
Here is the proposal:
A standard general purpose staff (no matching spells)
Casting boost max = 20 (for all spells).
Hand size = 10
Mega spell - chosen randomly from a specific list, with specific costs
Standard body gear
Attack = 10
Defence = 30
Agility = 50
Magic Power = 100
Deck size = 20
Turn limit = 20 turns
CR: krayzkrok > Beatrix
Killed himself by attacking a Paladin and coming off second-best.

CR: Joe over krayzkrok, I think this game was a result of most of my spells working and most of yours not. Surrounded him in a corner and stomped him with an elephant.
Want to keep two matches going or just one? (More works for me).
I can’t believe I lasted as long as I did, multiple attacks and still standing. Made up for nearly all my spells failing I suppose.

Damn, well played. I hate getting trapped in a corner, but moving out too early put me in range of all kinds of stuff. I was hoping the shield would protect me from your creatures, and that you didn’t have a magic bolt. I was half right.

Despite some blocking tactics by a lapped dave at the end, managed to skip past and claim the title! :)
