Dave developed a death grip relationship with a flipper. I was caught for a while but evidently Dave was the more scrumptious.

Did you know that you can’t attack after a teleport?

Rematch at 199955?

Thraeg: I also made a New Challenge with the Desert Fort scenario and the sides swapped. I’d be curious to see if you could pull off an Axis victory. It would be another feather in your cap, to accompany the CR Monthly Champ Title(s).

Sure, I’m up for giving it a shot. That scenario definitely felt like it was tilted my way.

Actually, since the maps and forces are asymmetrical and likely not perfectly balanced, maybe we should make that the standard format. A match would consist of two games on the same scenario with each player playing each side once. If each player wins one game, the winner is whoever had the more decisive victory in terms of their objective (victory locations, or whatever). And if that’s tied too, it would be decided by relative margin of casualties. Does that sound good? The only downside I see is that playing the same map again loses some variety compared to trying a new one every time.

Oh, and not that the standings will ever matter, but:

Thraeg > AT in Hell. We’ve come to a mutual agreement that the game just isn’t good enough to be worth putting more time into. The core mechanics aren’t bad, but not much apparent thought went into the scenarios and objectives for either multiplayer or the campaign. Worse, the balance is just woefully off, with Cerbers being the worst offender thanks to their combination of an AoE stun breath with 100% hit rate, and a Trample ability that only has slightly lower hit chances than a normal attack, but insta-kills targets regardless of health or armor, and can be used up to three times per turn.

Nope - I’m still learning the basic mechanics, which are not always intuitive. You can attack after moving. You can attack after casting. You can attack after casting and moving. But I learned the hard way that you cannot attack after casting teleport :)

Elf failed, Vampire failed, Pegasus failed. Mana Bolt to the face. I’m guessing the Peg may have been boosted because you just grabbed a Mana Sprite. Tough game for Thraeg.

Rematch at 199955 or 202551?

I’m cool with the playing the same maps over in BA. It will be interesting to see how much variety can be derived from each scenario. I think by default, I tend to rush in these turn limit games, usually to my own detriment.

It was the 100 point mega-city wot done it.

Yep, just one of those games. Joined 199955.

And yeah, it seems like the turn limit is high enough that you don’t need to rush too much. There’s an advantage to getting into defensive positions first, but keeping your forces together can also be helpful, and there’s no score counting up for how long you hold the victory location, just whoever has it when time runs out.

Yeah, Thraeg’s hellcat taugh me the hard way to take my time.

I’m fine with doing each scenario twice, I’m curious to see how the two sides start.

Just jump in!

I think that this is the only thing that makes sense. Plus, I love it! I don’t mind playing a scenario again one bit.
