Battle Academy: otthegreat > belouski 2-0 on Bocage village.

The map is comprised of a village in the center, a forest in the north, and a hill in the south. The first round was a closely fought battle that came down to the very last turn. Belouski’s panzers tore through my tanks in the south and his infantry pushed me out of the forest. I was able to hold on to the town and in the last few turns sneak infantry to the north and an unarmed truck to the south to secure enough VLs to win.

In the second game, I focused on the town and my combined tiger and infantry finally managed to take the town while my panther took the southern hill.

I think we’re starting to wind down on Battle Academy, but it’s been fun.

Carcassonne May Individual Playoffs!

rob > clyve

I rode the wave of good fortune to finish as the clear - but belated - winner of Carcassonne for May (2015).

Congrats to rob and clyve!

And, man, I’d forgotten how low-scoring basic Carc. can be …

Please add the final score.

NOW YOU KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE

Carcassonne Tournament

rob 123 > Beatrix 121

Another close match (he said, stating the bleeding obvious). A lot of jostling for a 24 point field which was eventually shared. When we were down to fewer than ten tiles I saw a 50/50 chance to get the majority in that field - but went for a guaranteed six points instead. Then Beatrix saw and took the same 50/50 chance - but the needed tile fell to me. Sighs of relief from the UK and sounds of an early departure to the beach from Italy. Excellent game!

Lol! It was the first thing in my mind when I chose the ranking system, you know why.

In case the score was lost I will add 100 to both players.

@TheDukester @JoeBolt: added both 100 points, waiting for the final score

Good game!

@TheDukester @JoeBolt: added both 100 points, waiting for the final score

The score on that game is long gone, I’d guess. It was … 140 to 112-ish? Maybe 135-110, or in that range. If you’re using 100 as a baseline win, you could give me 100 and JB 90, or something similar.

From the monthly thing, not the current tournament.

I was so hoping you weren’t holding the winning card:)

Carcassonne July/August

rob 98 > craiggiarc 78

Scrappy (in a good way) game, I played a tile early on that trapped 3 of Craig’s meeples and 2 of mine so that they would never ever be available again for deployment. So that kept the remaining action low key and nibbly.

I have also lost a couple of games but I think that the winners are saving up their announcements for a grand splurge of shame.

Scrappy or messy would be a good description of that game, they can be like that sometimes.

Carcassonne July / August

craiggiarc 129 > joebolt 68

That got out of hand pretty quickly!

rob, my game with you counted for the tourney! Maybe you didn’t know that I was in it.
