Qt3 Movie Podcast Pledge Drive/Listener's Choice Lottery

Oh yay! I donated again, then, to help offset anime, which is obviously a visual/aural emetic aid and nothing more.

What an insensitive, closed-minded, disgusting thing to say. Your parents must be so proud.

So I’ve never heard of the winner. And unlike most movies on the podcast, I will likely never incidentally watch the movie either. So it’s not one of those movies where I think “hey, years down the road, when I watch that movie, I’ll have to remember to look up marquac’s master list and find the Qt3 movie podcast for that movie”.

It’s the kind of movie I’ll have to actively seek out to watch. Whoever picked it, or has seen it, is it worth seeking out just for the purpose of then being able to listen to next week’s podcast?

I’ll put a list of all the vote getters once I get home from work.

Here’s the list. We’ll be announcing something else about the list next week!

Well, Redline seems to have won. While I wasn’t part of the anime coup, I’m tentatively optimistic about next week’s podcast.

They disowned me during my Gundam Wing phase when I was 11, so the world may never know.

Weird Stroszek trivia that only I may care about: it was the movie Ian Curtis of Joy Division was watching when he decided to take his own life.

Have you seen the movie Control?

-xtien

Yup, and also 24 Hour Party People also vaguely referenced it.

I’m sorry everyone, I did my best but we’ll have to wait at least one more year for a Whoamopsis.

I put in for The Pirate Movie, as it was fresh in my mind from finding a vinyl record of the soundtrack at a record store recently. I had no expectation of winning, but now I NEED to hear Dingus’s “stories” regarding this staple of my childhood.

It has arrived.

“Redline should not be missed.” Harry Knowles

Great. A Harry Knowles quote. Color me extra-excited.

Sorry I didn’t notice this thread because it was old and brought back to the top so I’d never subscribed via Discourse.

I’m sorry you got that anime movie. It’s “visually appealing” but not meaty. I hope you follow up on some of the suggestions from the anime thread though.

Alas, it was not up to me. :)

I’m already following up on the suggestions in the thread. I’ll be sure to post my thoughts as I go through recommendations.

Thank you, especially, for your breakdown and comprehensive list in that thread!

Why Did I Get Married, Too? The Goonies, Redline, and Rock & Rule. All of them, previous winners of the Make Us Watch Whatever You Want Fund Drive.

What will be the next title that you make Tom, Dingus, and Kellywand watch?

That’s right, the Make Us Watch Whatever You Want 2018 Fund Drive is now officially underway. For every dollar you contribute to the PayPal account at 3×[email protected] or paypal.me/qt3, you get a vote for the drawing to be held at midnight Pacific on March 11 to determine which movie the guys will do for the March 18 podcast.

Make sure that when you donate, you also put in the comment section of your donation which movie(s) you are voting for.

Best of luck to everyone.

edit - Added the second paypal link as well as the reminder to make sure you list the movie(s) you are voting for when you donate.

Ooh, thanks for bumping this, Chris! I should have thought of that myself.

You can also use the PayPal link paypal.me/qt3. And remember to include the movie you’re voting for in the comments section for your donation. We’ll be tracking and announcing which movies are at the front of the pack over the coming weeks.

Is the window still open for this? I keep forgetting.

It certainly is. I believe you have until midnight Pacific time on March 11 to donate and get your vote(s) in.
