Quick i7 Skylake CPU installation question

Hi, people, installing an i7 6700 today on an ASUS Z170-A motherboard and wonder if I need to bother with the CPU installation tool that comes with the board.
Everything is aligned properly but the spring loaded arm sure feels like it requires a lot of force to push it down. It’s been over 5 years since I last did this so maybe it’s normal and I’m just being paranoid.

I didn’t. like you said, it’s so easy and I’m not sure even how to use the plastic tool.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up not using it.

Had a little trouble getting the stock heatsink + fan to engage properly the first time so I had to try a second time. Hope the thermal compound didn’t suffer too much from that–I’ll have to keep an eye on the CPU temp when I boot it up.

Those sprung arms do exert some force. I was a bit worried by that too.
