Racing games - GTR, Race07, Rfactor, etc

Love that new name! Really hope they put in some kind of time-trial mode. For me, that’s the only major thing that is really missing from this game.

Supertruck is pretty rad too!

I just hope they overhaul the UI.

AUTOMOBILISTA just unlocked for people who own Stock Car Extreme but hadn’t bought early access.

Downloading it now… 11.4GB!

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be happy even if all it improves is the clunky UI…

Eh, the UI is still pretty clunky. The Rallycross feels a bit off, though that might just be because I’m used to Dirt Rally. The time-trial mode is really well done, and is probably what I’ll be playing the most. Haven’t tried much else yet. So far, it feels more like an incremental upgrade for SCE, which could be good or bad, depending on how you feel about the original game. A little disappointed that there isn’t more polish in the graphics.

Played this some AUTOMOBILISTA last night.

The rallycross is pretty good, but I need more practice.

However the new trucks are STUPID fun. I spent a long time lapping these monsters. They sway and yaw and generally perform exactly how you would expect when you mount a monster engine in a big floppy truck designed to hit metal ramps and FLY!

Getting serious, I went and ran the Formula Vees. I do not know the details of the physics changes in this game vs the rf1 based GSC, but the force feedback and tire model felt good to me.

Finally I tried some MP. Except the lobby is broken. There is a kludgy workaround. I expect they will have that sorted shortly.

Sorry, F1 fans. No mods for you.

http://pretendracecars.net/2016/03/23/formula-one-declares-war/

Formula One itself have required RaceDepartment to remove an abundance of Formula One modifications and liveries from their website – for multiple titles.

I’m glad I grabbed the Formula Classic mod before that all went down.

Not that I can stop hooning about in the Aussie V8 Supercars.

How bizarre. Like that article states, the only people who are benefitting from these mods are the most niche die-hard of fans. What’s the point? It’s like the boss caught the lawyers napping at their desks and told them to look busy.

F1 is run by a four thousand year old corpse who doesn’t understand the internet. This is the first year that there have even been official highlights online with any quality.

The sovereign prince like Ra, king of the North and South, the son of the sun Tutankkhleston, the ever-living, did, on the twenty-fourth day of the twenty-fourth month of his reign, set out the Formula One Technical Regulations…

Hmmm. Some of the F1 mods removed from community sites were for the game Automobilista.

Automobilista has been removed from Steam.

The Steam store page for Automobilista has been taken down due to a copyright infringement claim which had been submitted to Valve.

As is known, Automobilista packages a variety of officially licensed cars & brands alongside fictionalized, originally created content. The claim in question does not make any specific reference to content present in Automobilista supposedly in infringement of the party´s copyright - until it does, our belief is that it has no merit.

We have already taken the appropriate measures to resolve the issue ASAP, but in accordance to Valve´s policy, the process may take a few days to be completed.

In the meantime time we will continue to progress with the development of Automobilista, and intend to release another Early Access update shortly. The game is available for purchase as part of our Membership packages from our forum store.

Please understand that until the matter is fully resolved, we may not be able to discuss it.

The new RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE update is out, featuring the Nordschleife in four different layouts, from the tourist version, which is only 19km long, to the 24 hour layout, at 25.4km and the WTCC15 pack, in case you feel like you haven’t bought enough versions of the Chevy Cruze.

The new patch also provides a “massive” physics overhaul for the prototype, GT3 and GT0 classes, to bring them up in line with the more recent content.

A GT3 pack (non-ADAC) is apparently coming in April and a lower powered open wheeler is also on its way soon™.

Assetto Corsa v1.5 has also just landed.

Includes some American cars plus a fictional road ‘course’ (which looks quite interesting for someone who enjoyed the fan-made Lake Louise but hoped for something ‘official’ ie higher production values).

Right at the bottom of the AC patch notes, (literally the last line), it says “improved AI behaviour in traffic.” I think that’s it for AI in this patch, which means I still won’t get much play out of it.

I play Assetto Corsa exclusively as a hot lapper - I honestly can’t think of the last time I drove an actual race.

Racing was reserved for iRacing (while I had a subscription) or GSC.

I also reserve racing for R3E, rf2, GSC/AMS and iRacing. Just not through choice.

Two and a half years ago AC actually had a raceable AI… I don’t know what they’ve done since then, but I wish they could undo all of it.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE has just started its summer sale, with 50% off all individual cars and tracks and a new “Summer Special Pack” featuring 30 cars and 15 tracks for just 50 socialist currency units.

That pack is only available from the store itself, so is really for people who don’t own much/any content in the game yet

Some inspiration to get me to haul out the wheel and pedals.

Probably going to dive back into Dirt Rally and RSRBR.

I picked up MotoGP15 as it’s currently on sale. Eventually won a race in the Moto3 support class and discovered that I need to work on my celebration.
