I just bought a cheap-o laptop for email/web, etc stuff (low powered stuff).
The specs are:
Processor Type AMD E2-1800
Processor Cores 2
Processor Speed 1.7 GHz
Processor Cache 1 MB
Storage & Memory
Hard Drive Capacity 640 GB
Hard Drive Speed (Revolutions Per Minute) 5400 rpm
RAM Size 4 GB
RAM Type DDR3
RAM Speed 1333 MHz
RAM Slots 2 (1 Available)
Is there any value in buying more RAM with the low end processor the laptop comes with as there is an empty ram slot… will I see any gains with another 4gigs of ram?
if so how do I know the correct/compatible RAM to buy and how much can I buy?
Currently it came with 4gig DDR3:
Standard Memory: 4GB DDR3 (1333MHz)
Slot1: 4GB DDR3 (1333MHz)
Maximum Memory: 8GB DDR3
Expansion Modules: 2GB DDR3, 4GB DDR3 or 8GB DDR3
Does the above mean I can only add another 4Gigs of DDr3 for a total of 8?
