On our way to work every morning, we pass joggers running in the street, two to three feet from the sidewalk. There is a sidewalk right there. They run next to it, in the street, where cars can hit them, and where they can slow down traffic as cars give them a wide berth. There is a sidewalk right there. Why do they do this?

Go with the flow, add some amusement to your morning commute. Put the car in neutral and glide up silently behind them and then lay on the horn when you are right behind them to override the fact that they are running on the road with headphones on, no doubt. It might change their approach, probably wonât but you might get some sick amusement out of it. Or accept it because the world is not under our control, unfortunately, and itâs not worth getting worked up about.

Iâm not ârunner guyâ personally but I have known a few over the years. The way I understand it is that sidewalk concrete has no give to it; like running on a rock. Whereas asphalt has just enough give to it to be noticeably easier on the feet and joints over time.

Red doesnât âpopâ visually (by pop Iâm assuming you mean humans being sensitive to it), humans (along with most animals) are far more sensitive to yellows. It could be red was chosen for danger because of its association to blood but red isnât a particularly good colour to get the attention of human beings.
A lot of poisonous animals have red and / or yellow markings, and I assume they donât care much about the color of peopleâs blood.
