If you’ve been cutting jalapeño peppers for salsa during the day, it doesn’t matter how well you wash your hands, you WILL hear about it from your wife when you have sex that night.

Pretty smelly huh?

What, you don’t wear latex gloves during sex?

You cut them with your tongue?

Burning sensation actually.

At a teaching seminar. This is so boring.

Just got a refund check from Dell for a laptop I was making payments on. I purchased the laptop in 2003. They sent me a check for $340. Color me shocked.

I’ll be in my bank.

Hawt.

I have to disagree and say that you probably just didn’t wash well enough. Unless you were making a metric ton of salsa or you work in a restaurant and were doing industrial scale prep, there’s no way. At least next time you’ll (hopefully*) wear gloves.

*I say hopefully because from the tone of your post you seemed resigned to a destiny of forever burning your wife’s lady bits with jalapeno acids.\

EDIT: Also, try doing that and going to pee immediately after. You will either never do a half-ass job washing again or from then on always wear gloves when doing hot food prep.

$60 in materials + $150 emergency room visit is still less than paying a professional.

Maybe she’s into it.

You were still making payments on a laptop from 2003? How much were you paying, 5 bucks a month?
Dell probably took pity on you and passed a hat around the office to collect some donations.

No. That’s the thing. The account was paid in full over six years ago. The shocking part is that Dell finally admitted to charging me late fees that I didn’t owe, just now. All I can think is that they had an audit and were forced to make refunds.

But thanks for the smartass comment, none the less.

That’s a lot of late fees to be charged, especially if you didn’t owe them a penny for them. Did you go ballistic?

I went ballistic when I first got the charges. I called their “support” line several times and was told that the charges were not contestable. I knew for a fact that I wasn’t late with payments, my credit card statement proved it. Which I also sent them.

Eventually I just made a lump sum payment and gave up. The anger and frustration wasn’t worth it.

Thus my surprise at the check.

And of course you can’t just not pay, despite being in the right, because they can ruin your credit.

What are you qualified to teach? You seem a bit callow…

Now that you mention it, I’m not so sure that the “late payments” didn’t affect my credit. Nor can I be sure that this refund would expunge that. Time to check my credit scores I guess.

I don’t remember how old DGS is* but it’s possible to have a teaching degree that qualifies you to teach middle and high school at 23 years old. You just need a 2 year non-honours arts degree and then there’s a three year teaching program. It’s probably possible to get qualified even sooner that’s just the fastest I know of.

However I thought I remember him being in political science, not teaching.

*IIRC he’s 1 year older then me so that puts him at almost old enough by my estimate.

Because it’s not possible to go to a teaching seminar without being a teacher?

It’s for my job now, I work as a counselor for an after school program with children aged 5-12.

And I’m 21.
