What’s with all the handsome grandsons, in these rock band magazines?
What have they done with the fat ones, the bald and the goateed?

Turned 25. I’m fucking old now.
Sigh, sad days.
Get off my lawn, you whippersnapper!
Repeat after me : Scrum is not a replacement for proper project management, systems analysis and design.
When it replaces all those things and merely turns into a tool for micromanagement you are doing it wrong.

I am SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOOOOOO upset right now! My wife and I were going to see the Cult today in Pittsburgh, but we had to get the tickets via Stubhub, because it was kinda last minute (my wife suffers from depression issues, so we didn’t want to get them way in advance). We ordered them on Friday, and all the other person had to do was release the tickets. They said they would do it on June 2nd (yesterday). Well, that didn’t happen, and when we checked yesterday, they had somehow changed the date to the 3rd…which is today, AKA the day of the concert. We have to drive to Pittsburgh, which is a little over 2 hours away, and we’d go early to get a place to stay in case we needed to crash afterwards and all that, instead of driving home. And we wanted to explore the city a bit. So our plan was to leave at 10am (EST). Well, 10am hit, and no tickets, still. So my wife called Stubhub, and stubhub tried to contact the (call, I guess) the people who owned the tickets, but they couldn’t reach anyone. So we had to cancel the damn order! Stubhub gave us a 20 dollar credit, but I don’t give a damn. I was all set to see the Cult and Against Me! I don’t know the latter band, but a quick youtube survey suggests they are decent. But I REALLY wanted to see the Cult. Of course, the show is sold out, and stubhub couldn’t transfer us to other tickets. We COULD go and see if we can get them at the show, but we’re not driving all the way to Pittsburgh on the chance of seeing it. If it were Columbus (an hour away) maybe. But Pittsburgh is a big town that I’ve never been to, and I’d have to pay for parking, etc just to maybe find tickets.
Fuck!
At least, I have Journey tickets already in hand, but that’s not until September. Oh, Journey AND Pat Benatar. I’ll get my 80s fix from that! Looks like Loverboy will be there too, but err…I’m not sure I can cheeze that far.
Whatever. Someone comfort me!
That really sucks to hear Robert. AC/DC / Cult night at Mean Mister Mustard’s was my regular Sunday evening during my Ohio State days. I can understand why you’d be pissed.

Lying won’t help, but thanks for trying.
Most years, the Ohio State Fair would have been good for an 80s show or three, but this year they went all in for the 70s.
Chicago and the Doobie Brothers
Boston and Kansas
Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson
No luck there.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Boston, actually. But yeah, I’m going to Akron for Journey, not Columbus. I didn’t even think to check the fair though.
It isn’t Boston without Brad Delp. Or Barry Goudreau, for that matter.
And it isn’t Kansas without Kerry Livgr–OH MY GOD KANSAS IS COMING TO MY TOWN IN AUGUST!!1
Kerry who?

For the last couple of nights the wife and I will wake up thinking we’re still on the cruise ship. For example, I have had a bad cold since we got back. So last night I got up. The wife asked me what was wrong. I asked her if we had any NyQuil. She said, “No. But maybe you could get some here.”
I said, “Get some here? In the house?”
She said, “Oh, crap. We’re home?”
And she went back to sleep. But she was right, we didn’t have any.

“We place no reliance on virgin or pidgeon.
Our method is science, our aim is religion.”
People think this is cool, it is not. This is only phase one. Next up, American “citizens” will not be allowed to drive anymore. We will all be expected to ride in a robot car because “it is safer” and “more efficient”. Oh by the way it will track where you are at all times. And if they decide to arrest you for “suspicious” activity (whatever the government doesn’t like), “your” car will deliver you to the nearest police station. With the doors locked of course. No warning or reading of rights. All very convenient but it is like the Soviet Russia jokes. The car drives you.
Insomnia. Fuck this shit. Also, just when I think I’ve broken it I hear a little voice : “I’m feeling sick. MommyDaddy can I sleep with you?”
sigh
My Google-Fu has completely failed me. I want to find a Nintendo / Sega themed comic from a while back that was very long (maybe 10,000+ pixels vertical?) and, I believe, had Mario and Luigi up at the top in some clouds and then further down had Peach fighting off some baddies and Sonic getting his neck wrung by something. It was pretty disturbing, and very awesome. I’m pretty sure I saw it here, and I would guess that it probably either originated from Something Awful or deviantART.
