Every genre or niche deserves fulfillment but it seems like there’s 3 coming shortly that are absolutely unplayable without sound (like that echo location game). And I almost wonder if part of the reason I dislike some newer games like bioshock3, dishonored, and la noire is because I can’t have the sound on…

I can so very much understand this. And I wonder what it is that makes people like that. I don’t care about what my mother or my dead father have. What I care about is that I don’t have my father anymore. And now my mother is the focus of my “family”. When I was in NYC with my mother, my brother was already in Florida. My wife and I have been taking care of her for over 15 years. Now that we moved here, my brother and his wife are showering her with love. It’s some kind of twisted “who loves her more” shit.
I’m ready to go really ballistic on my brother and his wife. It’s so transparent what they are doing. I hate my fucking life right now.
Not to detract from the other goings-on in this thread, but hey, today marks five years for me as a proper, fully-registered member of this here forum. Half a decade. The wood anniversary.

Different people react in different ways. I have seen some families react like yours and I have seen others where nobody wants or cares about anything. There is nothing you can really do about your brother (aside from a talking to but do you really think that will matter) then you are just going to have to accept his actions.
Support your mother and live your life. Don’t hate your life because you can’t control your brother. Life really can’t work that way.

EDIT…The double posts on this thread are weird. I get an message asking about the page wanting to do something and I push the “okay” button and get duplicate posts. This is the only page this happens. No doubt a ghost in the machine.
Because I do enjoy the games, and when I start them I never plan to not finish them. It just seems something always gets in the way. I don’t grok how one finishes these games in a week or two.

Today is a weird day. I’m typically a pretty happy guy, but today I’m pretty pissy, to the point where I was unknowingly curt with some co-workers. In talking to folks on Facebook, I’m find I’m not alone in my “ick” feeling of the day. WTF? I mean it’s likely in-part due to the events of yesterday, but still, I’m not thrilled with this attitude. Playing a small round of Voxatron helped, but I think I need to dive into something tonight and kill lots of virtual things.
It’s the weather too. Blizzards in April? Sigh.

On a side note: Am I the only one that doesn’t pre-order games if they are throwing in crap I don’t want just to keep my steam list smaller? Papa and Yo is a perfect example, I don’t want the soundtrack clogging my steam list.
