Dear Local Council;
383.21 minus 346.91 does not equal 78.47.
I also like the contradictions within the same letter. Not to mention the other letter the same day with different information.
Sigh

Very very close call to have to make. Newmar had a great look, but Kittâs voice was like a kittenâs tounge. Rowr.
I could put this in the 2015 baseball thread. Itâs a story about baseball.
Except it isnât, really, and it isnât about 2015. Except maybe it is, in its own way.
What this is, is a story written by one of the very best writers working in any medium, telling a story about racism and America and hope.
Racism is a learned thing. Which means, to me, that it can also be unlearned.
And so with that preamble, hereâs the best thing youâre likely to read all week. Itâll take you 10 minutes, tops.
Adam West turned down the role of James Bond in Diamonds are Forever.
He said that James Bond should be played by a British actor.
In 1970, West was offered the role of James Bond by Cubby Broccoli for the film Diamonds Are Forever. West did not accept, later stating in his autobiography that he believed the role should always be played by a British actor. The potential casting as Bond became moot when Broccoli convinced Sean Connery to return to the role.
Our cats will never make good watch cats. Wife fired up the bread machine that sat in a closet for 15 years. Apparently the noises it makes are something to be feared and they made a swift retreat to the safety of the bedroom, where they can look down to the kitchen for further developments.
Yes, scaredy cats, thatâs where it came from!
Annette Bening in The Grifters is crazy sexyâŠand Angelica Huston is a pretty hot 2nd place.
Yeah, Annette Bening was the Rachel McAdams or Olivia Wilde of that time, basically so hot it ought to be illegal.
I love The Grifters. That is one seriously under appreciated movie.
Memories of a young Annette Bening eliminate random thoughtsâŠ

How can Frank Burns be that bad as a surgeon in a MASH unit with 4 surgeons and a 98% survival rate?
Allergies suck. I havenât had a serious bout with them since I moved to CA in 2007, but this year theyâre back with a vengeance. Damnit.
I canât get enough of pictures of tennis players kissing trophies and soccer players extending their arms to the side and then knee sliding when they score.

I was going to say he wasnât that bad, but now I realize I was confusing him with Winchester, who is a dick but also a skilled surgeon, unlike Burns who is a walking disaster zone. Yeah, no doubt Burns much have been confined to trench foot and ingrown fingernail cases for the most part.

But remember Burns was a Colonel. He had to have connections to get where he was. In the movie it was Robert Duvall. In both the book and the movie, Burns was an asshole, but not the clueless idiot that he was in the TV show. In the movie, Burns was a religious fanatic as well. The dichotomy between his sexual attraction to Margaret and his actions was his downfall. Along with his hate for Hawkeye and Trapper.
In the TV series he was more of a Dr. Smith foil. He was there as the butt of jokes. The TV series played fast and loose with the characters from the book and movie. Not an indictment of the TV show. But it was toned down a shitload from the originals.
If you ever saw the interviews with the whole cast, it seemed that they really didnât like Larry Linville. And it also looked like he really didnât have a very good sense of humor.

Frank Burns was a Major. He also ate worms.
After he went bananas he was, however, promoted to lieutenant colonel, transferred back to Indiana, and put in charge of a VA hospital. On the TV show, at least. The movie, as usual, wasnât so kind, and the last we see of him heâs being driven off the base in a straightjacket.

Man, I love that image.
Itâs rather chilly that look in his eyes.
If I remember right, Frank from the books graduated med school, and learned to be a surgeon from his father.
TV series had him 122 out of a class of 200, took 3 tries to pass his medical exams, which he paid 400 dollars for the answers.
For the dislike of Linville, maybe after so many years pranking and insulting Frank Burns maybe linville felt dislike for his cast mates.
And with years of Frank Burns being a major dick, maybe they grew to dislike Linville. Or nothing like that at all. lol.
