Not hard to see how Alabama got its reputation.
Youâre a classy dame, BJB.
Itâs not hard to see at all. The poor quality of the schools and the entrenched racism is very obvious.
Quoted eternally for posterity.

Absolute nonsense. Having a visible bra strap (or panty line, the âyâ of a thong with low-rise pants, or the bra cup with a deep V-neck combo) can be a perfectly acceptable part of an outfit.
Shoes. Womenâs shoes are evil. Iâm aware menâs dress shoes can be mighty uncomfortable, but letâs face it, you get one good pair and youâre pretty much set. If you limit yourself to a little black dress, you can get away with one pair of shoes (probably also black). Good luck finding ones that are comfortable. Do you want heels? How high? What about flats? Are those dressy enough?
There are plenty of fine dressy flats nowadays, and for heels, a pair of sandals can be mighty comfortable. But Iâm probably the wrong person to ask, as my SO finds heels more comfortable than flats.
Accessories. Again, not something you have to do, but helpful⌠probably like picking a good tie for the suit.
Neckties emphasize the wrong things on a womanâs body. Itâs the wrong shape for that form, no matter how butch she is.
Weather. Suits are hot, you say? Dresses are cool. If you want to wear something over your dress for warmth, again, good luck finding something that a) matches, b) provides some kind of warmth, and c) is dressy enough.
Leather, same length as the dress. Easy enough.
Next time you go shopping, Iâll tag along and get you all set up.
Oh donât get me started on Alabama. Luckily some of us can rise above it.

Hell, theyâre not even hassles, theyâre fun. Women get to do all kinds of interesting things in the outfit department that men never get to do. And itâs fun for me, too, to go with my wife and watch her try on different things. It helps that I actually have an eye for things that would look good on her that she wouldnât consider otherwise. And then the reward for that is getting to see her wear them. I get to hang out in the Man Chair the store has set up just for that purpose while she comes out, spins around, looks marvelous, and we get to chat about colors and styles and cuts and all sorts of things.
I know weâre busy making fun of BobJustBob here, but youâre on notice.

Iâm too easy to be worth the bother at this point. :)
Are you? I was sitting here comfortably in my shorts and didnât even notice. What are you wearing?

Only four? You got off easy. When we were getting ready for the Eli premiere, I started shopping in OCTOBER. The premiere? January. Just the shoes took half a dozen stores and three returns and I still ended up walking around the after party in stockinged feet because the winning pair was f-ing uncomfortable.
I also hate shopping. There were nearly tears in the middle of Bloomingdales.
Abaileyâs post is pretty accurate but doesnât cover all the outfit/event prep. Thereâs also shaving, waxing, plucking, pantyhose, back up hose for when those rip, hair, make upâŚ
Guys have it easy.

Iâm not sure where you got the idea that womens clothes donât require special care or storage. My dress clothes need special hangers and garment bags.
Womens clothes also tend to be more fitted so a very small fluctuation in weight can mean a whole new outfit. Hell, I canât even fit my boobs into my favorite dress the week before my period and the rest of me is the same size then. One shopping trip doesnât mean youâre set for all of your events for the next year.
Well, weâre going to a significantly less big-deal event than you guys were. :)
But she has had a run of crazy luck on clothing. She bought the second wedding dress she ever tried on. She seems to be good at this.

Sadly, Iâm the same with things like weddings and parties too ;) Itâs the price of being a tomboy the rest of the time - nothing to build on.
Second wedding dress? She is a shopping ninja.
She says to tell you that is one of the greatest compliments she has received.

Happy birthday, Scrax! Sorry about the shitty exam schedule ;( Same thing happened to me on my 21st. Good luck on your exam.
