Yea, I laughed so hard at that. And I especially got a great chuckle out of the shot after buying it.

Where she just sits there on a camping chair, all alone on that big space station, drinking alone, with the forlorn robot to the side. That was super hilarious to me for some reason. Probably the animations, LOVED that! So far even the first missions have been neat, so glad I followed spoilers because I am positive I would have probably missed it otherwise.

(Just put spoiler tag around the text, its under the gear when writing post.)

I am a little disappointed that there is no pirate bark of “WHO ARE YOU THAT FLIES SO GOOD ARE YOU INSANE!” when they’re about to blow, because the “Now entering automated landing zone” bark gives me nostalgia chills.

“You’re clear for klicks!”

Which game is that from?

I love the little cutscenes of landing and launching by the way. I do still wish I could line my ship up manually and take it into the docking bay myself, but the landing and launching clips are always really nice.

Also, I love the way the Platypus always lands harshly in different ways when setting down.

So how long is the whiskey distillery going to take to cook up another batch? I need two more to get my bar going…

Anyone else but me annoyed by the contraband scanning? Not so much that it happens - I get that - but it seems like every time I’m about to either land or hit a jump gate, I have to spend 10 seconds listening to a copy telling me I’m about to be scanned, a half-second being scanned, then another 5 seconds being told I’m clear. By that time, I’ve flown by what I needed to land/use at, and I have to turn around. Or spend time killing the engines. And if it didn’t happen all the time, it wouldn’t be as annoying.

Minor annoyance, to be sure. Still love the game.

I figured I should post here and say just how awesome I think RGO is. Great job @tbaldree and crowd!

I picked it up with fairly high hopes, but it’s done a great job of meeting them. Not to undersell what else has been accomplished with it, but the big standout for me was just how great the game updated and added to the feel of Privateer.

Yes45.

I think the best praise I can give it is that it reminds me of the rose-colored Privateer in my head.

There are 2 other places that sell Greel Whiskey.

What drives me in these games is the garage aspect: experimenting with different ships, loadouts, etc. I’m in a Coyote with a couple photon cannons and four other guns and I’m a little worried I’m running out of toys to experiment with, especially given the limitations on component levels on a lot of the ships. I’ll put the rest in a spoiler text:

I know there are some sidegrade alternate versions of some ships, but are there any new ships or equipment which becomes available as I progress through the game? I’m early on in the main story, I just put the the tracking devices on the jump gates with Satchel, but I’m worried if I’m already in a kitted out Coyote that there’s not going to be much more room to grow or new toys to experiment with, the latter of which is usually what drives me forward in these games.

I mean, that’s what I’m doing. It seems to do… basically nothing. I’ve done it after a fight where all my shields are down and the shield display doesn’t seem to change at all.

The command menu version seems to work for me. At about 4 o’clock on the radial menu.

That button definitely works for me. I have it bound to up on the right stick. When I press it and my shields are down and I have spare power, shields immediately pop back up.

I usually use the one from the radial menu because my down stick wasn’t mapping and I gave up on it (though if I remember I’m going to attempt that again).
But I’m saying… it doesn’t seem to do anything at all.

Maybe it’s some sort of function of your Power Plant where it’s useless if you don’t have a PP4 or something? No idea. I had a PP3 forever and dumping into my Tier3 shields did… nothing. Except keep me from afterburning away, which actually did work most of the time for staying alive.

I’ll see if I can get the remapping to work and play with it a bit more, but so far it’s been pointless for me. Maybe if I ran all ammo guns so I had a bunch of power I wasn’t ever using? No idea.

Nope, I only have a lvl 2 power plant myself.

I have a lvl4 powerplant, and it makes life so much easier.

I have a level 1 powerplant, but I haven’t needed much power so far for the Platypus. Even the level 1 seems like overkill since I have a mass driver and tracer. But it does allow me to have the new Level 2 shield well served with power, as well as have continuous Afterburners if I need them.

Assigning Right Stick up to Target Closest enemy works really well btw.

Go to a different system lol. I haven’t been scanned in the last 10 hours of gameplay. Check the level of law enforcement for each system.

Preach, brother.

Run on for a loong time, run on for a loong time, tell em that god is gonna cut them down.

I love that song.
