It’s 2019, utf8 hasn’t cared for decades. It’s just a bug like any other these days, it happens.

Yeah, but I’m really happy they did because not only would we not have the rockin’ good game we got but some stale, tame disnified version, @tbaldree would have been deeply unhappy watching the suits tear the heart and soul out of his creation.
We don’t need XWings
We Tarsus, Galaxy, Centurion and Orions

Did someone mention one of my favorite games of all times again?

I need Xwings. My great hope is for Disney to notice RGO and offer DD a bunch of money to make a straight-up sequel to the Totally Games series, puzzle missions, story, narrated mission briefings, and all. And a branching campaign accepting fail states too, which they never had. And then not castrate it into a microtransctions-ridden piece of shit.
I mean, seems unlikely. But that’s a game I would like to play.
That ship even kinda has the shape of the famous pusher prop driven plane from the game, doesn’t it?
Has anyone gotten the old game to run reliably on modern PCs?

I’m not sure, but I think EA bought the rights to all that stuff, so everyone else is locked out. I could be wrong (I hope I’m wrong).
Not everything space needs to be Star Wars, peeps. I mean, it was cool when we weren’t at maximum Star Wars saturation – like, say, the early 90s – but now that Disney is busy mainlining us with the Force, I prefer my space Incom Corporation-free.

I’ve searched for it several times. The best I’ve seen runs the game, but the buttons and some UI items are just graphic static. Unplayable.
OK, someone enlighten me as to what the optimal strategy is for the
Warning Shot mission. Do I even have a chance if I’m in a Sonora with mass drivers? Do I just have to hit one dirty cop with the emp missile and GTF out of Dodge? Is it possible to run away?
Ugh, and now I just got my first CTD.
I did it in the Hawk. Sonora might be pushing it.
You should not use any conventional weapons, the EMP rockets only. Get close so you can’t miss and fire. I believe you need to hit 4 or 5. The mission will tell you though. If a cop gets killed for any reason the mission will fail.
Travis and company have done a great job with the gamepad controls, but I played this weekend exclusively with the joystick and keyboard. It’s just such a blast. It just feels fun in a way that the gamepad can’t match. Maybe it’s because I already have so much experience with the joystick from years ago, but the actual maneuvering of the ship is so much easier too. I’m using the afterburner and inertial dampeners so naturally with the joystick. The only time I had to use the auto-pursuit button was when these pirates ships kept slowing down so much that I kept running to them from behind. Gah. So I finally mapped the auto-pursuit over to the left side of the keyboard too, so I can use it so low down in situations like that.

That’s so cool as that’s the way a good sim should be :)

I had to read that twice before I got it. Well, if DD got to remain independent without interference then yes. In every other circumstance? A resounding no :) I’d like them to be around and not have the company driven into oblivion.
Ah, that was you! Of course not-- no worries.
BTW, does anyone have any tips on how to take out one of those pirate barges that masquerade as honest traders? There are no turrets that are designated as such on them so how do you keep them from shooting your ship to dust?

I dunno, his pseudonym is NOTHING like the one he uses here. /s

Just curious, after viewing the comparison in the game between the Durston (my current favorite) and the Beluga, what makes the Beluga better? Just based on the stats, it wasn’t obvious why it would be better.
