Curious about that too. I’d have bought it on the strength of the previous game if it had been on a storefront I was willing to do business with, but I have no idea how much of a minority I am on that point.

It’s already been stated that the deal more than covers the initial profits, and they have a very long tail on their games, so they don’t mind coming to Steam late.

Sure, but it would still be interesting to see the sales figures and compare to similar titles released directly to Steam/GOG/etc.

Those games didn’t turn into turning duels only because they were programmed to let you win. In the multiplayer version of that (like XvT), they were turning duels when players fought other players, and they had to add different turn radii to different ships (i.e. add constraints) as well as some momentum, to make things interesting.

Given there’s a new Star Wars Squadrons coming out, how does combat in that look? Maybe reply in that thread?

We can’t compare and contrast games about shooting spaceships in a thread about a game that has us shooting spaceships?

Let the force guide you.

Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw’s release on EGS. With this milestone I went over to the official website for the game to see if there’s been any news on the releases for consoles and/or Steam. If May’s roadmap still holds true, it’s possible the game might hit Steam in the next week or two.

STEAM LAUNCH

Currently, the Steam launch is still on track for late August 2020, so fans who prefer that platform only have a little more time to wait before they can snag RGO! Much like the console releases, this will be announced fairly close to launch, but it won’t be prior to August 13th. Expect more news in August.

Ohhh that’s my screenshot!

Were they going to do an expansion DLC? Cause this game needs more official content bad.

I’ve seen no mention of one.

That stinks. Calling @tbaldree - please oh please please please do some DLC!

How well did it sell? Sure it’s coming if it sold enough. Or maybe they are too busy working on the console version?

It didn’t have enough content though? Don’t think I heard that complaint before.

No complaints here, easily got 100 hours of it, still play it here and there, but one would like more story stuff, for example.

I found the selection of ships to be pretty lacking and wishing there were more. That’s me, though, and my carrot is usually new toys and configurations to play with, not story or things like that.

They’ve added two or three ships since launch.

Were those the variants of existing ships, or in addition to the variants they added shortly after launch?

Well variants I guess, but a lot goes into each individual ship, like custom cockpits, arms hitting buttons for different things, etc etc.

Oh yeah, wasn’t minimizing the work involved, I just wanted to clarify if those were what you were referring to or if they had added more after I had stopped playing.

In any case, there’s definitely one area where I really wanted more content and would be interested in DLC. I kind of hit the end of “ship progression” (if you will) pretty quick.

Yeah I can buy the best ship in the game a few times over…but I just load it up sometimes to fly the Beluga. My favorite ship in anything ever.
