Its gotten some good 2 player reviews, and you certainly seem to get your moneys worth here. Its a lot of bits for ~70 bucks.

Hit me up in a few weeks, and I’ll let you know how this plays as two player (OT, but if you’re a 2 player board gamer, I certainly hope you have a copy of Twilight Struggle too).

Speaking of good dice games, I see that Kingsburg: To Forge a Realm is now back in stock all over after being OOP for a long while. It’s an excellent expansion in every regard.

So yeah, The Thing Print and Play:
The core game

The expansion (5-6p deck)

You add them to your Artscow cart, and then the best code I could find was (because holy shit Chinese shipping)

CXMASPPC

that brings it down to 38$, or you can try the free shipping one
Free shipping: FSVIPUSER

or the 25% off one that is on-site, but that was the best I could get (they don’t stack). Apparently the CXMAS one expires tomorrow, but there it is in case anyone wants it.

Unfortunately his Aliens game has been pulled on account of him licensing the game itself for some Western themed thing. Pity.

Artscow changes up its coupons all the time and sometimes has outstanding deals on custom card decks. Might be worth waiting for if you think the game will still be there later.

One of the things I like most about these designs is that they incorporate foul language from the movies. It’s awesome playing a game themed around IP you love that doesn’t have to be toned down for kids/Walmart-friendliness.

Yeah, I just wanted to avoid missing out on this one the way I did with the Aliens one, and it seemed like a fair price. I need more yute-corrupting games for the holidays.

Don’t normally dump sales in here, but I know people have talked about Yomi before and how expensive it is.

CoolStuffInc. has Yomi Complete on sale for $69.99 (I think it retails for $100).

With CoolStuffInc., if you add something that gets your total order over $100, shipping is free (including preorders, if you want to wait until the preorder comes in to ship).

Yomi

That’s very tempting. Thanks.

I would be very interested in doing this, along with my teenager. Jan/feb would work best for me. I scrolled through the discussion on boardgamegeek and see that you’ve done this once or twice before.

By the way, does anybody have any intel on when the second edition is coming out?

Should be in stores this week, next week at the latest.

You think this merchant would be a good, reliable preorder:

Post in that thread to let people know you want to learn & your timeframe.

There’s even a couple of us with the Collector’s set. Round Rock takes its War of the Ring seriously :)

Haven’t tried them, but coolstuffinc has it for the same price and I use them all the time.

I’ve used Coolstuffinc before, and they’re good… except they’re in Florida and I’m in California, so ground shipping takes a long time.

I tend to use Funagain. It’s up in Oregon, so no sales tax for Californians. Once orders are shipped, they arrive in a couple of days. Plus, they include a $5 off coupon in every shipment. The downside is that they require a $70 minimum for free shipping, but they also have a loyalty program. Prices are good, but there are a few places cheaper.

I’ve used Boardgamehaus before and they’re OK. I prefer Miniature Market these days, which shows it in stock for $58.49 with a much lower free shipping threshold. Coolstuffinc is also awesome, but a bit pricier than MM. The former is in Florida and the latter is in Missouri if it matters for shipping purposes.

That’s a shame! Coolstuffinc does wonders for me, being in Atlanta. Their free ground shipping is either 2-day or overnight depending on how early I place my order. I’ve been to their physical shop down in Orlando before and picked up a couple orders - it’s really funny because it’s just a strip mall LGS like so many others, but I have to imagine the online sales is much more profitable for them.

Okay, ordered from coolstuff. Hopefully this arrives before Xmas. This year the Bonnell boys will be getting Dixit and (hopefully) War of the Ring.

Which “Ticket to Ride” do you all think is best (besides the original)?

The Game of the Thrones LCG just dropped down to $17.99 on Amazon now! Damn good deal. :)

Europe for 4 people, Nordic for 2-3 people. I haven’t played Asia though.

I’m afraid this would be me. I picked this game up at a local game store earlier today and I really do like the concept of an evolving game world but I am shy about permanently altering the map irrevocably. Also, sounds like over on BoardGameGeeks that folks are worried about the game having a limited life, since after you’ve been through all permutations you’ve got a completely filled-in game board that you’re stuck with from that point on. Which I guess isn’t the end of the world (ha) but does seem limiting. I don’t know, I’m tempted by this because I haven’t picked up one of the new Risk boards in years but I am kind of looking for a good one. Not sure how I feel about Legacy.
