This is the kind of thing relevant to the interests here. Sometimes the YouTube algorithm spits out something right.
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time filtered through Dream Theater, Haken, Animals as Leaders, Pink Floyd, and more. And it’s a pretty well done one too! Shockingly so.
I’d give it a listen, well worth some time.
Yes but have you considered

There are no wrong answers Mando, though it helps that Gerudo Valley is my vote for the best theme in the entire series.
Anyone else grooving on Death by Rock & Roll from The Pretty Reckless this week?

I just wanted to say that I enjoy the bass track in this song, especially during the chorus. I thoroughly enjoy the whole song, but the bass just kinda does its own thing half the time and I enjoy going along for the ride. I mean, it’s not totally detached from the music, but most of the time a bassist just apes the guitarists in this style of music and it’s nice to hear the bass have its own story once in a while.
Cryptopsy: Framed by Blood Linked because of grime and nudity on album cover.

So Epica has a new album coming out

Kinda digging what Simone is doing on the verses here.
Epica always sounds… ‘fine’ to me but… I swear to god I can’t differentiate songs from the last 4 or 5 albums. They all sound the same. Same guitars + chorus + orchestral arrangements of the same type. Zero variation. I liked them better in their first 3 albums, it has a more unique flair.

I’ll agree that they haven’t released anything as superb as Design Your Universe since. That was their last truly ‘great’ album in my opinion.
Wasn’t big on Requiem, and Holographic principle was fine but not as transcendent.
Local doom metallers Witchtit finally finished production on their debut over the pandemic <3
It’s real good shit.

The new Architects is… really, really good.
I went back to their last album and it wasn’t doing much for me?
But this album is like… all fire.
Edit: “May they rest in peace, because they’re fucking dead to me.” Makes me smile every time.
Ungh, this is absurdly up my alley. Thanks for the link, @ShivaX ! Gonna be bugging the downstairs neighbors with this album for a while :-D

Glad to help. We can both thank Courtney from Spiritbox for saying something on Twitter, because they weren’t even on my radar till she mentioned them and then I went and listened to the album on Youtube.
Also Spiritbox is amazing as well.
Was going to drop this in the New Music thread, but maybe this is the better audience. Helloween new album with Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen back in the lineup returning to record with them after around 30 years though they returned a few years ago for live stuff.

Lol, I was literally just watching this premier on Youtube. So amazingly cheesy glorious.

That’s a wacky looking guitar.
This is a really great album, epic progressive melodic death from Denmark.
I hesitate to label it ‘melodeath’ since rather than the traditional embarrassing croon the guy does a super powerful metal voice. Just gets better as the album goes along:
And to balance it out, here is some great new Norwegian black metal as well. ;)
Here’s a really great band, The Bubbas. Supposedly, they have an album on the way. ;-)
