I realize it’s not cool to like Limp Bizkit and no one admits to liking them. I thought their last 2 (or was it 3) albums were uninspired rehashes of what they’d done before.
This new album they fully embrace being old, has been nu metal dudes theat everyone hates and the album is surprisingly good…if you like nu metal rap/rock bands, which also is not cool to like any more. I was in my early 20s when KoRn kinda kicked the subgenre off, so I’ll always be a fan.
OK, go back to your regularly scheduled programming.
P.S. Yes, We Borland is still great on this album.

The new Archspire rips. That is all.
Sam Black Church were kind of local legends around Boston in the late 80s/early 90s, their live shows were infamous. Hardcore/Metal hybrid
Blood Lighting is a project of a bunch of Boston local metal folks including Sam Black Church,GOZU, Worshipper, We’re All Gonna Die, Cult 45, Black Thai, and The Men
On the melodic/symphonic side of the street, I’ve been enjoying Last Days of Eden’s latest, Butterflies.

Reminds me a lot of Nightwish’s Imaginaerium.
Someone smooshed together all the bits of Hours That Remain-era Mercenary, nu metal, and Machinae Supremacy that I like and called it a band. Neat!

Seeing them tomorrow with Knocked Loose!!! The lead singer of that band has a voice that’s a bit high and may grate on some, but the guitar riffs are great and I grew used to it after hearing (and feeling it) live.
Allow me to start an experiment. Every day, I will put a song of a different artist, starting from A to Z, one from each artist I have in my personal Plex library.
That means… around 230 artists in 230 days!
Starting with 65daysofstatic’s postrock (Day 1)

Holy Cats!, Knocked Loose has an animated short film to go with the entirety of their latest EP. A little reminiscent of Tool videos. Anyway, I’ll stop spamming about them and Gojira unless I get some awesome pics tonight. It’ll just be 6’ 4" me, so I am getting my ass to the front.
Ungh, this is precisely what I desire from my melodeath. Featuring a bunch of old members of In Flames, including Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity:

Nice. And a hell of a banger.
Adrenaline Mob - Day #3
https://youtu.be/FvBtj9CMNKg
An interesting band, composed of members of other bands (Symphony X, Dream Theater, and others), to produce a more ‘straightforward’ rock/metal sound than their typical output in their main bands, which usually is more progressive.
Good Lord that band has a history…
On March 20, 2015, drummer A.J. Pero was found unresponsive on the band’s tour bus. Band members attempted but failed to wake him. The band was traveling from Baltimore to Poughkeepsie. Pero was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead from an apparent heart attack.[8][9] He was 55 years old. The next day, the band performed in New Jersey with several drummers filling in for Pero, including Chad Szeliga, Johnny Kelly, and former Adrenaline Mob drummer Mike Portnoy.
On July 14, 2017, while traveling to St. Petersburg, Florida for a concert, the band’s RV had pulled off I-75 in Micanopy, Florida due to a flat tire. It was then hit by a tractor trailer. Later that night, former drummer Mike Portnoy confirmed via Twitter that bassist David Zablidowsky had been killed.[12][13] Band members Mike Orlando, Russell Allen, and Jordan Cannata were also seriously injured in the accident.[14] Janet “Jane Train” Rains, the band’s tour manager, was seriously injured in the accident, suffering significant burns. She had been taken to the University of Florida Health Shands Burn Center in Gainesville, where she remained for five weeks until her death on August 23 as a result of her injuries.
I knew about the first death, not about the other two. Damn.
This is definitely more straight rock ‘n’ roll, but I suspect you folks in here will appreciate it most.
I’ve been a fan of Junkyard since their debut, but the label really wanted them to be something they weren’t back then because Guns ‘n’ Roses were the hot thing. When their second record came out, it was clear who they really were and they’re still putting out great music today. They look like hell, right off the L.A. streets, and well, for me that’s still something I respect, admire, and love about that L.A. rock scene. Glam, punk, devil may care attitude. It’s why I am looking forward to another L.A. band release tomorrow but I’ll post something from them tomorrow…
Anyway, check out Junkyard…
Also, @Tyjenks … really digging the new Limp Bizkit. Laughed out loud when Love the Hate came on. :D

Yeah, the complete self deprecation and acknowledgement about how hated they are and how few fucks they give make it so much better. I wasn’t a big fan after the first three or four albums as om their latter ones they seemed to be trying too hard to be the same band they were. This is much more self aware.
They released no physcial version on any formats. Straight streaming. Sales weren’t the best as they debuted at 155 on Billboard and I don’t think they really care.
Mostly, the songs seem fresh while reminding us of why we liked them initially and Wes Borland’s riffs on a few of the songs are great as always.
I love it and will happily tell everyone that hates them how good this album is. If you hated them from the beginning, “Still Sucks” won’t change your mind, but if you fell out of love, this might bring you back to the fold like it did me.
I think I’ve recounted it before, but I was peripherally interested in them when they were big and then I was at Summer Sanitarium at the Vet in Philly and they were on the bill. That tour was so ridiculous given I watched Metallica fans practically boo The Cult off the stage during the …And Justice for All tour as their opener in support of Sonic Temple. SONIC TEMPLE! The best The Cult LP ever and an album that is iconic for me still today. The cover. The songs. Billy Duffy in that rock guitar pose! Metallica fans in Harrisburg wanted none of it. They weren’t much kinder to Little Caesar that day either who again, that self-titled first release… fucking brilliant. Ron Young faced the gd Terminator, people!
Anyway… Summer Sanitarium… Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Deftones, and Mudvayne! Holy shit what a show, and when LB came out, I fully did not know what to expect and I was floored. They rocked the hell out of that building. Fred was just so good up there. They made me a fan. And as an aside, so did Deftones and I was already into Linkin Park, who also were just tremendous as a live act in that era. Chester’s ability to scream was unnatural, may he RIP.
Anyway, after that I explored LB more and realized those guys were talented, and irreverent, and well, it resonates still today IMO. So yeah, Still Sucks, but also worth listening to. :)
