That album is incredible. It’s so complete, from beginning to end. Blackbird (the song) is a masterpiece. AB III has some incredible stuff too, but man, there’s probably nothing better in the AB catalog than the entirety of Blackbird. I saw them one time on the AB III supporting tour and they are as good as it gets on a live stage.

I love Mark Tremonti, but just never dug Alter Bridge though I have tried many times. Myles Kennedy is crazy talented, but I think I just don’t enjoy his vocals for some inexplicable reason.
I think their biggest failing is their albums are way too long. I have a strong aversion to more than 10 or 11 songs on a record, because typically once you go over that amount, I simply can’t listen to it all in one sitting or drive. Inevitably some songs end up being less than exciting too. I think AB needs a better producer that tells them to cut some tracks. It’s notable that I think this of pretty much every band this guy produces…
More isn’t always more. The best albums get in and get out with a decent variety of sounds, tempos, and ups and downs. This guy’s productions always seem drawn out and overwhelming.

Day #10 - Animals as Leaders
Not a lot to say here, Animals as Leaders are fairly famous in their subgenre.
New Temperance album, Diamanti, has dropped, and should be up some alleys here :)

Day #11 - Anthrax
I never listened to them a lot, in reality. What’s their top 3 albums?
If you ask me, Sound of White Noise was the best. But a quick glance at Spotify rankings has 1) Spreading the Disease, 2) Persistence of Time, 3) Among the Living.
My favorite by a long shot is their latest, For All Kings, but I’m a very weird Anthrax fan.
Stomp 442 is my favorite. Very overlooked.
So four recommendations, and the four are different, lol :P

This is my opinion as well.

Anthrax is a top tier band for me. Persistence of Time is their best work. As above some people prefer the John Bush era (Sound of White Noise) but I like Joey.

Hot damn this is good stuff

so pumped for the new album
It is quite literally… almost everything they’ve done. All their albums have shown their incredible talent and professional approach. For me, We’ve Come for You All is the best Bush record and probably my favorite overall, while Among the Living is the best early Joey record and for me Worship Music is still the best post-Bush Joey record.
The thing about them is they have three very defined periods of the band that have lots of amazing highs in them based on the vocalist at the time as noted by three records listed above. Just dive in. See them Live. Anthrax are Metal.
I will be effusive in my praise when we reach the Ay- for Ayreon :P

The famous alternative metal string quartet. They are mostly a instrumental band, but the songs with vocal guests are also very good, as you can listen above.
Heck yeah. I saw them live a few years back, and it was amazing. The weirdest cross-section of classic and metal fans in the audience.
