I am a big fan of Tom Englund’s work. That said they have never topped this early song, it just rocks that hard (King of Errors is a close second)

Day #54 - Exivious

Instrumental Prog.

I love when prog metal band names are as unpronounceable as black metal band logos.

I WAS going to do a joke about the freaking name lol

Day #55 - Faith no More

I didn’t know if it counted or not, but wikipedia said ‘metal’ twice!

Dude, tell me this isn’t metal:

Also their song Motherfucker from their recent album is just so damn enjoyable.

Beyond the usual suspects like Epic, my favorite Faith No More track has always been Be Aggressive. Impossible to get out of your head for days.

And now it’s in my head!

Ah yes a stone cold classic

Angel Dust is a remarkable album.

That…

I…

Wow.

So I should really start posts saying ‘well, this isn’t really metal but…’ to egg people to reply :P

Day #56 - Fates Warning

Fates Warning is one of the godfathers of prog metal, and Ray Adler has a fantastic voice.

Parallels is still my favorite album of theirs because goddamn does Eleventh Hour have one of the most epic build up and release vocal and guitar drops ever. When Ray finds that extra octave! Goosebumps every time

Day #57 - Fear Factory

Man, I absolutely loooooved Fear Factory in my 20s. Demanufacture and Obsolete are just amazing. Still do enjoy their stuff from the late 90s, but most of what they did after bounced off me. All the infighting hurt the output, I’d say.

They had some decent albums - the most recent is actually really good that came out last year. Has Burton’s lyrics even though he quit for good before it got released. Demanufacture is easily in my top 10 albums of all time.

I fuckin loved Digimortal back in the day. When they were fusing shouted and clean vox with their pounding downtuned riffs, it was the coolest fucking shit in the world to me.

I thought Genexus was actually their best one in ages after Dino was back, but I haven’t listened to the one after that.
