Just something fun, for an old Dire Straits fan.

Day #58 - The Flight of Sleipnir
“A collaboration between Clayton Cushman (Acheronian Dirge, Ex-Throcult) and David Csicsely (Acheronian Dirge, Nexhymn, Ex- Throcult) to create a project that is lyrically based on Norse mythology and built on a “doomy” foundation with elements of psychedelic and progressive rock.”
Man, there’s this big two disc compilation from them, Blast from the Past, where they re-recorded a bunch of Scheepers era tracks and just remastered newer ones, so it’s a greatest hits collection where everything is basically on the same level, production wise, and it’s to this day my favorite such collection. None of their individual albums quite rise to that level for me, but collecting the best 21 songs from the very productive first decade of their existence is an almost unfair density of metal excellence.
Yeah, Blast from the Past is good.
Day #60 - The Gentle Storm

A collab project between Arjen and Anneke Van Giersbergen as singer.
And outside the schedule, I put this video, because I love The Ocean
Day #62 - Gojira

Great band! The Magma album was (chef kiss). I like the new one, Fortitude, a bit less.
I will always have a lasting fondness for the original self-titled Godsmack debut, but none of the others ever captured me as well.
Yeah I think the first two were the best.

Agreed, I picked up a couple more, but they were really just doing the same album over and over. Pretty much the same as Five Finger Death Punch. I wish Moody had kept to more of the Motograter/Ghostmachine vocals. Both bands hit a formula and it worked, though, so… [shrug].
I will say that I would still go see a Godsmack show as it’s just a flat out good rock show with them all doing their thing up there and always near the end the dueling drum solos when Sully’s kit came out on wheels or something were amazing each of the three times I saw them way back whenever that was.

More rock than metal, yes.
Good bangin’
Day #64 - Hail the Sun

Fun video, I hadn’t watched it before.
God these guys are so good. Super sad the keyboardist quit/was fired. He was a fuckin’ hoot during their live shows with his keytar nonsense.
Day #66 - Helloween
Another classic European metal band.
I always really loved their first album, Walls of Jericho, which was more of a thrash/speed direction than the power metal they did later (which I also like). I think I wore that tape out as a 16 year old. :)
