Dunno what is the biggest O of O’s, but it’s going by alphabetical order. Does it goes before or after Op?
I think you are going to have to put a video tomorrow to compensate my tastes!

Obituary? ;)

Or Orphaned Land.

The Neverending Way of the OrWarrior is a pretty banging album

Yep! Mabool for me was pretty big too.

Pretty great article about Soundgarden today. Maybe not today’s definition of Metal, or the era’s either, but I’ve always categorized them there moreso than the Nirvana scene even if it’s all intertwined.

SuperunKnown is damn near a perfect album, just like Badmotorfinger. Two of my top 10’s. Not metal though.

Much to Scharmer’s possible disappointment, the next is…

Day #112 - Orange Goblin

From out of left field! I was thinking October Tide or Outre-Tombe.

I get what you’re saying. I think maybe it’s because they had more of a blues inspiration, like a lot of conventional rock and metal bands. So the sound was kinda parellel. Nirvana and a lot of the others came out of the punk scene, which tended to be more inspired by surf rock and bubblegum pop.

There are a lot of folks who compare what they do directly with Black Sabbath. Some of their stuff definitely has serious similarity.

I mean, there are patterns to interpret here… how many artists have I put after this three months and a half that sound like those artists? if the cover has the group name written with jagged scribbles, chance is, I won’t like it.

Meanwhile most of your collection would be at home on mine, and visa versa, even if there are a few notable exceptions.

Why no Leprous! WHY NO DEVIN TOWNSEND!!!

I actually liked a few things I listened from Devin Townsend

Jon Teachey, drummer for Wilderun (and backup for Aether Realm in their recent tour with Unleash the Archers) is streaming on Twitch currently. Playing along with both click tracks and normal versions of their songs and talking about gear, technique, and tour tales. Pretty fun!

Day #113 - Orchid

“Formed in San Francisco in 2007, Orchid are a doom band channeling the classic bluesy doom of metal titans Black Sabbath.”

Rammstein’s latest single from the forthcoming album of the same name (Zeit) dropped today:

The video…well, some scenes are sort of hard to process…

New Ghost album is out:

I was going to post that Rammstein video, but I see I came late. Cool video, as always.

Day #114 - Otep

Day #115 - Pain of Salvation

Warhammer Dwarfs and metal, that’s quality for some value of quality.

That’s some value of quality, yep.

For a better power metal song about Dwarves, you have a BG song commissioned for some middle tier rpg game adapting some german fantasy books? Whatever, the thing is, the song is surprisingly good:
