Another new Rammstein video. This one is… interesting.

Cool video, but I liked the song a bit less.

Day #139 - Riverside

Day #140 - Rusell Allen

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sztp0cVYjGM

The singer of Symphony X has done a few solo albums, so now he has an individual entry here!
This in particular sounds more hard rock than anything, I don’t know how the others are.

This popped up in my algorithm again. Ahh Huntress… combining a few of my favorite things. Metal and schlocky horror.

RIP Jill Janus.

I don’t think I ever posted this when it came out in late 2020. Which is a shame because Vanden Plas is one of the best bands out there

I realized that because this released this week. From the same album but just a different track

I never heard of Vanden Plas (man, bad title band) but they don’t sound bad.

Day #141 - Russian Circles

https://youtu.be/noApRfRztHs?t=64

"Chicago-based instrumental post-rock/metal trio Russian Circles create a complex clamor of sprawling guitars, propulsive drumming, and heavy bass lines. First emerging with the promising 2006 debut Enter, the group became one of the leading post-metal acts of the 2010s, receiving wide acclaim for ambitious full-lengths such as Empros (2011) and Guidance (2016). "

Russian Circles put on a great live show. Saw 'em opening a tour once years back and they blew the main band out of the water, hah.

They’re genuinely one of my favorite band, and this German group has put out very consistently great work. Their best albums are Christ-O and The Seraphic Clockwork, but there isn’t a bad album out there from them.

Two of my favorites. Of my many favorites

A perfect slice of nuwobbom!

Day #142 - Sabaton

I don’t really care for them, in fact I had forgotten I had an album from them…

They put on a fabulous live show. I think I’ve seen them with Battle Beast opening twice now, and that’s just a frankly unfair amount of energetic charisma.

I saw them live 5 or 6 years ago, having never heard them, at the Palladium. They totally blew me away. One of the best live performances I had ever seen. Then I went and started listening to their new album on Spotify and they had a bunch of songs about Nazis. :/

Machine Head has a new album coming

Was just about to post that - much better than their last album.

Day #143 - Sanctity

https://youtu.be/n1EPuegdyic

“North Carolina-based heavy metal quartet Sanctity fuse classic thrash and melodic NWOBH-inspired power metal with the sonic attack of contemporary alternative metal acts.”

New album by Kreator

Day #144 - Savage Circus
https://youtu.be/UwwvS4bx-mk

I know this band because it’s where the previous Blind Guardian’s drummer went, but it doesn’t seem the band got any traction.

Day #145 - Scale the Summit

Instrumental band for you.

Day #146 - Scars on Broadway & Serj Tankian

I will cheat and put two different artists together (in any case both are in the S !). Both are separate groups born from the System of a Down being in a ‘indefinite hiatus’, so that’s one reason to group them. The second reason is that my opinion is similar with the two: both are inferior versions to System of a Down, which I find ironic, they separated and went their own ways, but really the style is similar so I guess it was because personal difference, however you can see how there was something special in being together because their individual works are a bit lacking in comparison.

Day #147 - Seemless

https://youtu.be/TzzeYtcQ6l8

Another instance of ‘I have no idea of who these guys are or what they are doing in my HDD’. At least I listen to them now and think ‘yeah, it isn’t bad at all’.
