In my defense, I think we put three videos of Star One a few months ago, when he released the new album, that’s why I thought we had filled already the quota of that band :P

Just know you are on notice :P

Day #167 - Stratovarius

We return to the Power Metal. In reality they are another band that I listened to it more years ago.

Day #168 - Stream Of Passion

https://youtu.be/Z9ZJCs_h9Ws

Another band related to Arjen from Ayreon! It was founded by him together the vocalist, Marcela Bovio, although later he left it. The band existed until 2016, where it dissolved.

Day #169 - The Sword
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyJR5sGEdaM

“A doomy, retro-metal four-piece hailing from Austin, Texas, the Sword draw from a wide array of influences and hard rock subgenres.”
I think I discovered them one or two years ago. I like them, it’s a modern group but the sound apes clearly the 70s.

For @Giles_Habibula and others like @Tyjenks, here’s the videos I took when I went to see The Darkness and The Dead Deads a couple weekends ago. Mostly decent. The iPhone does a funky thing when you zoom in where it picks up sound differently. I’m not sure I encountered this before at a show? Might be the size of the venue made it more obvious? Either way, you get my perspective on an awesome night, in chronological order from the sets…

“Sane. Insane. The same.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKdZmvguLJQ

“Gimme a hug on a sheepskin rug, tell me that we’ll never part.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en2FyknBo4E

“Stone cold foxes screaming in the front row. Sacred promise of fellatiooooo!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T703dv0OEeU

“That dog don’t give a fuck!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdxPU1bvS40

“I used to sit on a toilet… with a seat.”

“Edmund the Martyr cut down by a Dane, on the orders of Ivar the Boneless”

Sweet. Thanks @DaveLong

Day #170 - Symphony X

https://youtu.be/_z3AHbjeb1U

Symphony X … /chef kiss. Great mix of pogressive and a heavy tone.

Sad recollection of the end of a great band

Very nice. Thanks!

Day #171 - System of a Down
https://youtu.be/iywaBOMvYLI

A small, unknown band. Hipster-like, almost. Pity the breakup.

Damn I miss these guys. That original self titled release is the album that got me into hard music in the first place.

Day #172 - Tanith

Now without irony this time, these are much more unknown guys.

Day #173 - Tarja Turunen
https://youtu.be/G-i4wUTtkZc

After leaving Nightwish, she went to do some solo projects. Alas, I think the albums are inferior to Nightwish.

New Lorna Shore:

Too much for me, I think. And I liked the last EP. No Azrael moments where I can feel it (not to mention understand it).
It’s a song for people more hardcore than me.

Also new The Hu:

It’s no Wolf Totem, but it’s alright.

Definitely has some Ace of Spades, Master of Puppets energy going there for sure. There are certain riffs and song sections that would feel right at home in that era.

Day #174 - TesseracT

Day #175 - Tool

https://youtu.be/MM62wjLrgmA

Another minor band.

Oh, that “Puscifer” side-project, yeah

New Soilwork. Yay!
