Another thanks for the excellent moderation, here.
Also interested, despite all my best instincts to not involve myself in yet another forum game, but the theme is an intriguing one!

I’ve had a lot of fun running this game. Thanks to all my players for putting up with my silly stories and contextualisations and for largely keeping things running at a good pace.
From my perspective, the RNG looked to be pretty nasty to everyone. Some players lost key senators to unfortunate mortality chit draws, others failed multiple rolls which had high odds of success. That is certainly the nature of the game, particularly in the early republic. I was almost surprised when Rome didn’t fall to the mob after this turn’s state of the republic address. 10% chance of instant loss is almost a certainty.
One key turning point in the game happened before anyone had the chance to influence anything: the first state of the republic speech that gave you a manpower shortage for the first turn. That completely blew the “standard” plan (tackling the 1st Carthaginian War before it can get nasty) out of the water and left you always scrambling to keep Carthage at bay.
I’m actually a bit disappointed you never managed to tackle Carthage: I have maps ready to go for your borders as Rome expands. Oh well, they’ll have to wait for another game.
Mentioning which, I’m happy to run another game pretty much any time if people are interested.
I’d like a better way of tracking things than the game state thread and PMs if I can find one. It’s a bit haphazard and led to a couple of mistakes. I really want to keep it all on the forum if I can though. Other than that, I think pretty much everything went smoothly.
I’m definitely interested.

Put me in the lottery for a spot in game #2!

I would very much like to play in game 2. I just finished reading Edward Watts’s Mortal Republic, and am eager to get into some Ancient Rome.

I’d love to do this again sometime, but I’ll bow out of game #2 to make room for new blood.

Same here, i’ll join the gallery and look into how to do Founding Fathers logistically.

I’d be down for round #2 as well.
Maaaaan…
My dance card is so full, and I really was gonna bow out, but we’ve never PBF’ed (sounds disreputable).
@rho21 lemme know if you don’t get your preferred max. And thanks, yet again!
Sorry for going off topic. I watched a couple of videos of Founding Fathers and it looks very interesting. What do you guys think of it? It doesn’t look like it would work for solitaire play but if Qt3 is going to have a forum game then I’m tempted to pick it up.

Yeah, I don’t think much of it as a solitaire game- it’s very much in the Republic of Rome style, but there’s a less expensive one from Game Crafter that doesn’t have printed rules or a box which is how I did it(the rules are in a PDF online).

Founding Fathers looks super cool. I’ll probably order it, and could try to run a game (although it would be slow, add i am juggling work and my one year old).
Edit: My copy should arrive before mid-March.
@CF_Kane Did you order from Game Crafter? I haven’t found any other source. If it looks like we have enough interested players then I’ll order as well. Do we need a new thread so we stop derailing this one?

Looks like four people expressing interest in playing so far…
I would but I didn’t follow this very well at all.

I ordered from Game Crafter. I’m pretty sure Founding Fathers is only available via a print on demand setup.

It’s also really a very different type of game. It’s mostly a card (tile) melding game.

This is actually a different Founding Fathers game (confusingly). This one is a print on demand game that is an adaption of Republic of Rome, rather than the Leonhard and Matthews game that you are thinking of.
