Keep an eye on the wealth tab (lower right).

It’s calculated based on everything you have and that is on the map and available to haul. So, dead bodies and their tainted clothes=yes, silver in your stockpile or on the ground=yes, silver you need to mine=no

Ahh, I never even noticed that. Thanks, that’s going to be super helpful. I had over-stockpiled for the winter because in an earlier game I ended up starving, so ended up with a freezer with enough food to feed an army. I figured what’s the harm, if I have way too much then maybe a trader will buy it or something. Now I have an answer to my rhetorical “what’s the harm?” thought. :)

I once “accidentally” cooked 1500 pemmican very early, which resulted in the earliest mech breacher raid I ever had. No centipedes, but this was a tribal start so I think my best weapons were clubs and some pistols.

Has anybody ever tried the multiplayer mod? Me and a buddy both have played single player and are thinking about getting back into this coop. Do you share a base? each have your own? Trade with each other? Etc.

They have a multiplayer mod?! If you try it, let me know how it is!

Definitely

I find the wealth mechanic frustrating, and I’m glad we can customize it’s impact now

Where/how is that customized? Do you have any recommended settings?

I don’t think you should start customizing it yet, but it is part of the storyteller settings

Just remember that your own colonists can trigger traps accidentally:

So just be careful about having a path that your colonists routinely take which requires them to walk through a string of traps. Normally some hefty stone doors which allow them to bypass such routes is sufficient.

I did find that one out the hard way! Funny, it was the first time he walked over the trap, shortly after placing it. My infamous RNG curse manifests itself yet again. :) That’s why I thought it likely it would trigger for friendly visitors as well.

Hopefully it was just a wooden trap! Then it’s just a matter of patching them up (hopefully between raids).

If it was a steel trap…could be nasty. :(

Dang, I looked into getting the DLC’s before I fired this up again. Even with the slight discounts at Fanatical it’s over $70 cdn. Its probably worth it but I have a hard time spending that on a new game let alone DLC’s.

Yeah - but don’t wait for a sale. The developer doesn’t really put the game on sale much

Took the plunge and bought all 3 DLC’S last night. The beginning with Ideology is a little intimidating. No idea what the heck is going on :)

If all three DLCs are new to you, choose the option during setup to enable Ideology but not activate it for your colony. You’ll have plenty of new stuff to deal with!

All 3 are new, thanks for the advice. Not sure if I will follow it though :)
