RIP Kenny Rogers

His cover of The Gambler is one of those iconic, evergreen songs that always managed to find a new generation of teenagers to sing along to it. Such a great jam! He’ll be missed.

I’m heartbroken. Marlene and I were JUST listening to one of his songs when the headline scrolled by.

Man, an icon during his heyday. RiP Kenny.

So sad, I always enjoyed watching his duets on youtube. RIP.

The First Edition work he did (songs like “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town” and “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In”), were parts of my childhood too. He was quite a talent, spanning a range of creative and entertainment arenas.

I liked his chicken.

What did he need hospice for? I didn’t even hear he was sick.

Kenny can finally count his money, b/c the dealin’ is now done.

One of my earliest memories of popular music was travelling across the state in the back of my family’s station wagon, bored beyond belief, and singing along to “The Gambler” (badly) on the 8-track, over and over.

RIP.

Kenny used to rock out (as per The Wombat)

You had a great run Kenny, rest in peace

The context in which I best remember that song…

This is apparently going to start to get some radio play.
