RIP One Bozo the Clown meets his Maker

In St. Louis we had no Bozo. We had Corky the Clown and later Mr. Patches the Clown.

Detroit had many local media personalities.

Milky the Clown was the mascot for Twin Pines Dairy.

Lawson J Deming was Sir Graves Ghastly.

Lunch with Soupy Sales.

And boozy gossip Bill Kennedy at the Movies.. He would smoke and dish on more famous actors as if he were a member of The In Crowd.

For a relatively small media market we had a lot of local content. Of course we only had the three networks, public television, the CBC in Windsor and the shadowy Kaiser Broadcasting out of Cleveland to choose from.

Living in Michigan, he was a big part of my childhood. He was also a big part of my sister’s developing a serious fear of clowns. RIP scary clown.
