RIP Prince Buster

Ska & Rock Steady legend passes at 78

Listen to some of the cuts on the page to which I linked and you can definitely hear how important he was to the Two Tone bands of the 80’s

RIP. Oh man, I was literally listening to him just before I read this.

Being an American of my age, I first heard his songs via 80s ska revival covers of “Al Capone,” “Madness” and “One Step Beyond.” Didn’t hear the originals until much later (when I also learned that he had just barely grazed the US charts in '67 with “Ten Commandments.”)

What better way to remember him than with Prince Buster covering Guy Lombardo. Enjoy Yourself.
