The 48k was my first ever computer. Very distinctive looking system. Our cockatiel used to love nibbling the rubber keys away. RIP Rick.
I had a Timex 1000 which was the North American version of the ZX81. The ZX81 was brilliant bit of engineering, Four chips! CPU, RAM, ROM and big-assed logic array. My Timex 1000 ran a bit hot so I drilled holes in it (true!). I did not, however, drill holes in the old black and white TV set I used as a monitor.
Wow! Thanks for this! Also I noticed he wrote the word Eagle here. Inspiration from the 1977 Dan Dare 2000ad strip?
Dan Dare was a 2000AD character at one point? Someone do a videogame!
