She passed today after a long bout with cancer at 61. She really inspired me as a kid, so she’ll be missed. :(

She was truly an inspirational figure, promoting science education (for both girls and boys, but focusing in later years on girls). I know her sister from when I was a kid, and the Ride family produced some truly exceptional women. For those of you who are religious, please remember them in your thoughts and prayers.
